look i WISH more horror movies were just the directors thinly disguised fetish. instead we got all these horror movies that are just undisguised reflections of culturally hegemonic values and anxieties. like if we got some weird fetishes up in here it would probably add some variety thats all im saying.

weird low budget 70s sexploitation giallo quickly becoming absolutely fascinating to me. they’re like hammer movies but half the actors are speaking italian and dubbed over with english, and american actress carroll baker is there. and the production design, lighting, and editing are always like actually interesting and good well beyond the quality of the films overall. like all the acting is bad and the actors look 70s-crazy and the direction is bad but they look phenomenal and are always doing experimental expressionistic cuts and using neat colors. what is going on here.
