nihira was desperate for some sunlight, spending so much time in their close quarters made her antsy, she's been sitting with her list of things that they'll need this upcoming week going over it twice, her half chewed pen is on it's last straw and it's stupid but there's sentiment with it -- having used it for a full year now and even more with her position. she looks up and closes her eyes briefly. they do that sometimes, think back to what it was like on that last good day. "you good, biswas?" she asks, glancing at the list. "anything i need, i can find myself," she almost brags. "did you jot anything down for yourself?"

PRE APOCALYPSE.
Cereza was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and spent her formative years along the coast while her parents dedicated most of their time to various archaeological pursuits. Cereza was curious about her parents' work and often pleaded to join them on their adventures. However, due to the dangers involved, her parents opted to take her to offsite locations to observe their findings. This only fueled her curiosity further, especially after her mother was presumed killed in a spelunking accident.
Following this tragedy, Cereza's father abandoned his archaeological ventures and instead toured the world, sharing his findings and lecturing at universities. For Cereza, "home" was never a fixed place, the nomadic lifestyle became challenging after her mother's death. She yearned for the maternal care her father, despite his efforts, couldn't provide.
As Cereza grew older, the tension between her and her father escalated. Their relationship was marred by arguments and extended periods of silence. Eventually, her father cut off her finances. Taking this as a challenge, Cereza's first significant theft was stealing a substantial amount of money from him and running away. She cleverly manipulated others into believing her father had funded her own explorations, leading her to become a "thief for hire." Her endeavors involved smuggling paintings, artifacts, and heirlooms for elite clients or selling them on the black market.
POST APOCALYPSE.
When chaos erupted in Washington, Cereza stayed for several weeks before hearing rumors of safety in Alaska. Driven by survival instincts, she decided to follow those whispers of refuge.
In the harsh and unforgiving landscape of Valdez, Alaska, Cereza has carved out a niche for herself as a skilled scavenger for Port Valdez. Her resourcefulness and adaptability make her an invaluable asset to the camp. Given her experience as a "thief for hire", Cereza applies her skills in lockpicking, stealth, and subterfuge to gain access to secured locations and hidden caches of supplies.
PERSONALITY.
Despite the tumultuous relationship she shared with her father, Cereza values having a sense of "togetherness" -- especially given the circumstances. It's a grim reality, but Cereza values having compassion. Though she is not always upfront about it and can come across as cold and uninviting!
Cereza's tenacity is matched by her sharp intellect. However, Cereza's impulsive nature can hinder her ability to plan strategically. She's skilled in her line of work, but her adventurous spirit often lands her to fall face first ( literally, and figuratively ) on several occasions. It borders on foolish recklessness. Cereza often pushes herself and others into dangerous situations without fully considering the potential consequences. It can put her and those around her at unnecessary risk.
She has a charismatic charm that can be both disarming and intimidating. Cereza knows how to use her allure to manipulate situations to her advantage. She tends to believe that her way is the best way, which can come off as condescending to those who disagree with her. Her confidence sometimes blinds her to her own faults and the value of others' input, causing friction within her community.
Beneath this charm lies a deeply guarded individual, wary of forming close attachments due to past betrayals and losses. It's left her with deep-seated trust issues. Cereza is guarded and reluctant to form close attachments. This emotional distance makes it difficult for her to truly connect with others, leaving her feeling isolated even within a group.
