when deuce summons a cauldron, it actually belongs to someone else! what if reader's super special cauldron painted pink and decorated with rhinestones suddenly went missing and she tries to find whoever stole her cauldron just to see that its being used by deuce to give people concussions but reader's lowkey a battle junkie so she encourages this behavior ٩꒰｡•◡•｡꒱۶

Synopsis. Deuce discovers an interesting fact about his magic, which leads to an even more interesting interaction...

a/n. I've been binging One Piece like there's no tomorrow... I've gotten to Long Ring Long Land in the span of four weeks. I'm really proud of myself lol
As usual, Deuce was practicing his magic in his physical education class with Ace. The two were practicing on their own, casting random spells and hoping for their signature spell to appear.
Now, Deuce knew what his little magical talent was. He could summon cauldrons! How fun and exciting. Unfortunately, he didn't know much about what his magic entailed... All he knew was that if he said "I summon thee cauldron!" a cauldron would obviously appear (and probably land on someone he didn't mean to hit).
Deuce didn't realize that he was actually summoning the cauldrons of other people! Well, not until he summoned a hot pink, bedazzled cauldron and practically crushed Ace right into the ground.
Meanwhile, in Professor Crewel's Potionology class, (y/n)'s personalized cauldron had gone completely missing. It wasn't hard to miss; covered in hot pink rhinestones and bows, it stuck out like a sore thumb. The girl was utterly conflicted. How could this have happened?!
"Mister Crewel, my cauldron is missing!!" (y/n) gasped from across the classroom.
The dual tone-haired man turned around with a frown, "Miss (l/n), do not shout in my class."
"Sorry, sorry..."The young woman pouted, "Can I go look for it at least?"
"Fine, fine, but be back quick. You're on the verge of failing for the day." Crewel sighed, shooing her off, "With haste, puppy!"
(y/n) huffed and puffed on her way out of the classroom, heels clicking softly against the stone floors of the hallway. Just as she turned the corner into a corridor with pillars leading outdoors, she glanced over at the gym class that was currently in session. Before she could complain about having to go to gym next period, her eyes locked on a particularly sparkly cauldron... a pink cauldron. Her pink cauldron...
The young lady gasped in horror and leaped out from the corridor, sprinting out into the grassy field. She completely ignored Coach Vargas's shouting and the attention of the other students when she finally found herself approaching a blue-haired boy who was probably around her age.
"Hey, you have my cauldron there." (y/n) frowned, "Wanna explain why you stole it from me?"
Deuce turned around hastily while trying to lift Ace from beneath the darned cauldron. "H-huh? Sorry, I have no idea what's happening. I didn't mean to steal your cauldron!!!"
"Yeah, well, wanna explain why you took it?" (y/n) smoke firmly, hands on her hips as she glared down at him.
The more she pushed for an answer, the more flustered he became. Deuce has never had much time around girls growing up. He's only ever known his mother and his friends' girlfriends in middle school. Having a random girl, probably from his grade too, talk to him so confidently made something in him all riled up.
"I-I swear, I had no idea it was yours--" "This idiot doesn't know how to use his magic," Ace butted in from beneath her cauldron. "I guess he can summon the cauldrons of other people and crush someone with it."
Deuce scratched the back of his neck as he helped Ace to his feet. "Yeah... I just found this out right now." His sky-blue eyes squinted shut as he bowed, "I'm really so, so sorry ma'am!"
(y/n) was silent for a moment, her jaw dropped just slightly. "You use it to crush people?"
"Oh, uh, yeah. By accident most of the time." Deuce nodded, fiddling with his fingers behind his back.
"Stop it, that's insanely cool!" The girl's (e/c) eyes began to sparkle, "Wait, now you have to tell me how you use it. When it's not an accident."
The duo looked at each other, Ace with a smirk, and Deuce with weary eyes. With an encouraging elbow to his side and a snicker from his buddy, Deuce shyly explained his magic. "Well, I can trap people under them, and I can give people concussions sometimes if I summon it right."
His cheeks were dusted pink, but (y/n)'s attention was on something else completely. "Seriously!? Oh my Sevens, you should've said something sooner! You can totally use my cauldron for fights!" (y/n) smiled in excitement. Deuce swore she could replace the Sun with how brightly she grinned.
"I mean, as long as it's alright with you," He muttered.
"Do you like fighting or something?" Ace asked in his usual teasing manner, but it completely flew over (y/n)'s head.
"Absolutely! Battles are my thing!" The young woman exclaimed with clasped hands, "Why? Do you guys like to fight?"
Once again, Ace directed his attention to Deuce, "This guy has a history of fighting," he snickered.
"Hey-- Only in middle school, I'm past that now!" Deuce retorted with a scowl.
"Ugh, I wish I could've been friends with you back then..."
Deuce was unable to think at this point. Never once in his life has a girl shown this much interest in him. I mean, she didn't give a sliver of her attention to Ace at all; it was practically all for him! Also, while he truly did hate his past self, it was confusing to hear (y/n) be so interested in it.
"Alright then, I should probably get back to class, Crewel's gonna kill me!" (y/n) giggled as she picked up her cauldron with all her might, only to fail when her arms gave out.
"Oh, do you want me to help you with that?" Deuce unconsciously asked. He didn't even realize he said it until Ace looked at him sideways and (y/n) looked quite relieved.
"That would be a help. Thank you so much..." "Deuce."
She smiled in that bright, glowing way again, "Thank you so much, Deuce. I'm (y/n), by the way."
Somehow, his name sounded sweeter when it came from her lightly glossed lips. He lifted the cauldron from the ground with ease, just to show off a bit.
"Of course, (y/n)." He smiled back at her. She truly was an interesting girl, but not in a bad way. Not in a bad way at all.
