I came really close to getting a role on The Dark Knight when it was filming in Chicago in 2007. One morning I woke up and while holding my cup of coffee I looked outside of my apartment while they were shooting. I had an epiphany. If I’m serious about being in film, I have to move to Los Angeles.

"Good to know some things never change. Mutants are still going to be hated no matter the universe."

A dark head canted to the side, misted eyes moving to the point from which she had heard her wife speak from. "We've lived enough lives to know that remains a constant. Some things never change, do they?" For a moment, it had seemed like Krakoa would be a solution. But there was no Krakoa in this new reality they had been unceremoniously dropped in, was there? No matter how complicated her relationship with the nation had been, its loss left a hole in Irene's chest. She then extended one blue clad glove, the open invitation dangling between the two women. "Come here, my love."

"c'mon now, don' look at me like dat." Remy looked defensive. "y'aint never had 'gator?" the meat sizzled in a pan over the stove, looking indistinguishable from little chicken nuggets. Didn't taste like 'em though. Gator had its own thang goin' on. Little bit like chicken, but not quite, "And yer lookin' at me like I'm weird." he scoffed. "y'know what they say, don't knock it 'til you tried it." he gave the pan a lil shake, rollin' the bites onto the other side to get 'em good and golden brown all over.

"It's not the gator I object to," Irene mused, her words pointed. Both of her hands remained pressed flat against the countertop, the solid material grounding her to the moment. "But we both know that I didn't come here to speak with you, Gambit, or subject myself to your attempts at cooking."
