(2/3) There was a 3-month period where I was, not depressed, but completely unmotivated and out of touch with my blog. I had overworked myself so much prior that I had over 30 posts all ready to go in Drafts, so I was pretty much able to take 3 months off work (besides independent contractor work, answering emails, and posting on social media every day, of course). I’m ashamed to say this, but after 7 years of blogging, I was fantasizing about 9-5 jobs 😑 I miss having a boss telling me what to do, and being able to go home and be HOME, leaving work at work. I pulled an all nighter before my 5:00am flight yesterday morning. I was packing and baking Banana Bread and these Peanut Butter Cookies! I have TSA pre-check and live close to the airport so I was thinking I could call a Lyft at 3:50am and have a good amount of time to get to my gate. I called the Lyft at ~3:56am but the driver got lost in my apartment complex and didn’t call to ask for help. I called him and he’s like, “There’s no way out” 😂 DUDE FIND AN EXIT! After instructing him on how to find the exit, he finally got to me. It took him exactly 12 minutes 😑 As we’re on the highway (I’m slightly pissed off already), he goes, “The speed limit is 70, I’m going 60, is this okay?” 🤯🤬 NO IT IS NOT. I said, “No, I’d like to get to the airport sooner than later.” He sped up thank goodness, but took the wrong turn in the terminal so I told him to pull over and got out of that car as soon as I could. 🙄 It’s now 4:21am. The second I walk into the airport I realize I needed to check my bag (which I’m not used to, I usually just have a carryon). SHIT. 😖 I run in the (long) line to check bags and am panicking. Boarding is at 4:30am. I finally got my bag checked at 4:35am. The lady checking my bag says it’s a late check so it might not get on the flight. F*#%. That’s the bag with all the gifts in it. Crossing my fingers, I run to security. The regular line is SO LONG it almost reaches the bag check area. 😰 I keep running to TSA pre-check which THANK GOD has literally ZERO people. 🙏 I go through security in a breeze and get to my gate right as my group is being boarding. My knees were shaking so bad 😅 But I made it. I MADE IT. I’m now I’m Wisconsin and enjoying all the cheese curds and desserts 🙌 If you’re traveling I hope you have a less stressful time. This is the first holiday I’m spending away from family. Currently in Wisconsin spending the week with my boyfriend and his family (his bday also happens to be on Christmas day)! 🎄🎁 This is also the first holiday I can remember where dessert is a staple.
