There's something deeply insidious about the language of technology in the current era of the hostile AI takeover.
The labels on the buttons have gone from technology as an optional tool where the user gives literal commands: "Open new document."
To a pseudo-conversation where the computer dictates the user's responses: "Yes" or "Maybe later" (but never "No.")
Which has paved the way to the current hellscape in which the technology company is fully subsuming the voice of the user: "Help me write."
Who is "me" in that statement? And who decided what that subject wants? Fuck all the way off, Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Amazon, etc. Imagine if any other business attempted to sell you a product by telling you you're an idiot and then loudly doing an impression of idiot you when you try to protest.
It's the erosion of user autonomy taken to the extreme whereby the computer corporate entity replaces the voice of the user altogether specifically in order to convince you that yours is a useless voice requiring their thought-replacing product.
