          “never did i say i don’t want kids.” he snaps back rather quickly. feeling as if he was back before his divorce and he felt like he was being attacked and words were being put in his mouth. he was quick to get defensive about the whole thing. “i said i wasn’t ready for kids and therefore, my wife divorced me. there’s a difference.” he squints now, swallowing thickly. feeling his heart rate picking up in almost terror. “if you don’t want one, then what’s the point in telling me ?? don’t you have options ??” he wasn’t trying to steer her in the direction of anything remotely harmful, but if they shared the same views then fuck it. he didn’t care. “we’re not together. so you do whatever you want to do to the kid. save me the pressure of having to tell the media that i knocked up my realtor and i fucked up.” his words were hostile. which wasn’t like him, but the way she had come at him, it made him irritated, almost numb about the whole situation. “so once again ?? why the hell are you tellin’ me ?? you’re not very fucking happy, so fuckin’ get rid of the thing. the fuck ??” he questions with a roll of his eyes. “save yourself the trouble, goddamn.” he would step up if he had to, but if it was up to marcus, he’d choose for her to not have the child at all. he just wasn’t ready. 

             marcus wasn’t sure how frowned upon it was in his world to sleep with someone who was aiding him in finding a new home for just himself. his former wife taking everything from him and then some. so he knew he had to find something that was his and his only. so if he ever did get involved with someone, at least they couldn’t strip him of his home. he never really thought that the entire thing would turn into sleeping with her every chance he got.      eyes are focused on himself in the mirror for the moment as he was washing his face, just as he would every single morning. usually, he’d make some breakfast and send her on her way if she desired to just leave. it never bothered him at all. he was technically still single and was just enjoying his time. he’s making his way back out now before he’s stopping in his tracks the second she speaks. “what ??” he questions, almost stupidly. eyebrows narrowing as his gaze is shifting all around his room, maybe silently praying this was a dream. he wasn’t expecting to knock the girl up at all. “you serious ??” he asks. this was the whole reason his wife and him had divorced. she was ready for children, he wasn’t. not to say he wouldn’t embrace it now, but he was worried on how this would look to the media. “if this is a prank, it’s a fuckin’ mean one.” 

“so   not   doing   relationships   means   what   ?   that   all   of   a   sudden   that   gives   you   free   rein   to   be   an   ass   ?”   she’s   shoves   at   his   chest   to   walk   by   him   and   put   space   between   them   ,   knowing   that   the   closer   they   were   ,   the   more   claustrophobic   she   felt   .   “if   you   didn’t   want   to   be   with   me   ,   lannan   ,   you   shouldn’t   have   asked   me   to   be   your   girlfriend   .”   feels   like   she’s   in   middle   school   ,   having   to   break   up   in   front   of   the   entire   cafeteria   ,   only   difference   it   was   just   the   two   of   them   now   in   the   middle   of   her   apartment   and   still   as   embarrassing   as   ever   .   “what   did   i   do   this   time   ?   tell   me   .”
