Gage Kline
I was out in my home town Sebastopol CA and happened to meet an interesting new artist with a real ear for pop structure. Gage is 19, however his music has a masterful pop subtlety that belies that of someone who has spent many more years at his craft. Definitely give Gage a listen here at Gage Kline Music on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/gageklinemusic
In Conversation: Matt Black (Coldcut / Ninja Tune) In a career that has spanned four decades, there's not much Matt Black hasn't done in the music industry: acclaimed DJ, producer and remixer, label owner, A/V artist and app developer are just some of the hats he's donned over the years. In conversation with Bruce Aisher, we chart the career of one of the most influential figures in the UK's rich electronic music heritage.
I just won't post everyday. I don't find things truly worthy of posting on an everyday basis.
Record shopping with Mr. Beatnick Mr. Beatnick has been one of London's best-kept secrets for years. A brilliant DJ, producer and writer, Beatnick has quietly ploughed his furrow for well over a decade in the London underground, but found a whole new audience with the release of last year's 'Synthetes' EP. Woozy hardware house, as opposed to the hip-hop that Beatnick has spent most of his career making, its regality resonated with the likes of Jamie xx and Deetron - both of whom included it in mixes - and marked the dedicated digger's most well-received release to date. That is, of course, until 'Sun Goddess', a step up from 'Synthetes' and one of the most immaculate dance records that 2012 produced. Here is Beatnick down at his local record store, remarking on some of the records that he holds dearest.
