Long deranged rant ahead!
Ok so I'm pretty new to the Dispatch fandom, but I think I made a discovery that I really need to share before it eats me alive.
So I am currently very hyperfixated on Dispatch for the foreseeable future, and like one does when deep in the throes of a hyperfixation, I have started writing fanfiction for it. The fic I'm working on focuses primarily on the pathetic depressed twink that is Robert Robertson III, my beloved- and I... am learning quite a bit.
For context, I am a perfectionist. And maybe also a bit crazy. Although I write fics to be self indulgent, I also try to write as close and as accurately to canon as possible (just because I like it that way). But often times I go a little too far and try to know about specific rooms or places a character might spend a lot of time in. See where this is going?
So, like a psychopath, for the purpose of my fanfic I spent an unreasonable amount of time scouring through Dispatch gameplay footage to get a rough 360 of Roberts apartment and its layout and... Robert... Robert my guy-
He lives in a studio apartment with a kitchen area and we all know, and I've stared at enough footage to confirm, that before the house party this man had NO furniture period. (the lawn chair doesn't count). His apartment has two doors total (excluding the balcony door), a front door and a side door in the apartment that leads to his bathroom. Please stay with me, I know I'm deranged, but this is so unreasonably important to me-
From what I could see in the opening segment of episode four, his bathroom HAS NO DOORS and the space under his bathroom sink is ONLY A PAIR OF CABINETS. The bathroom just has the basic sink, toilet, shower. No closet, no washer or dryer. The reason this is important to me is because in that opening scene, he pulls a work shirt from a drawer. There are no drawers in the bathroom. There is no closet in the bathroom. You know what part of his bare ass apartment has a drawer? The kitchen.
Robert keeps his clothes in his kitchen drawers???? potentially also the cabinets, juries still out on that one. No, but the guy could have kept them in the bathroom cabinet, or in something else like, idk, the boxes he has piled in his apartment for some reason- but the kitchen drawers? He lives like this?? It's not that crazy of a discovery but I'm learning so many new things about the way this man thinks.
