Honestly, the thing that is the most unbelievable to me concerning irl demigod lore I’ve seen circulated is that there is supposed to be a supernatural summer camp located on the Long Island Sound. In the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, it is located on the northeastern shore of Long Island but I’ve also seen some accounts saying it is in New York City, presumably in the Bronx or Queens.

Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson books and related media, is from Texas. Even if he did some cursory research of the area, it is clear he took a lot of creative liberty because, yeah. These are heavily developed areas with massive populations.

I’ve lived in the New York tri-state area, particularly near the Sound, for a significant part of my life and there ain’t no way there is a physical summer camp with ample space for campers and staff to run around and multiple cabins tucked in the woods of… Long Island? The Bronx or Queens?? Even with a significant suspension of disbelief, there is just nowhere that could physically exist in that particular area. (Some might say ‘oh, it’s invisible to mortals’ or ‘it’s in a pocket dimension’ but then it wouldn’t be physical?)
