hey! can you do number 80 in the prompt list with jared kleinman, with preference on him saying the sentence?
Dear Evan Hansen - Jared Kleinman x Reader#80. âSomeone keeps leaving love notes in my locker and Iâm not sure if I should find it endearing or creepyâŚâ
Valentineâs day had already come and past, so Jared was definitely confused when he continued to receive the notes complimenting his personality and traits well into the month of March.
âI just donât get it!â you heard Jared exclaim to Evan one morning in front of his locker.
âGet what?â you asked while approaching the two, wanting to know what they were talking about. Jared turned to you and you could see that he was pretty frustrated. âOr do I not want to know?â
âSomeone keeps leaving love notes in my locker and Iâm not sure if I should find it endearing of creepy⌠When it first started it was nice, but now itâs just a little ridiculous. I mean, Iâve been getting them since February. Thatâs a long time!â
âEspecially when it comes to supposedly âlovingâ Jared,â Evan teased. Jared leveled him with a glare and you couldnât contain a chuckle yourself.
âI donât know Jared, shouldnât you be flattered? I mean no one else got notes, and theyâre all nice, right? I wouldnât mind getting some complimentary notes in my locker, especially after a hellish day in this dump of a school.â
Jared let out a sigh. âI guess youâre right, but even you have to admit that itâs a bit stalkerish. Like how did they even know which locker was mine?â
âOh, yeah, itâs not like we hang out in front of it every morning while Evan and I wait for you to get your shit together,â you reply with a roll of your eyes. Jared just huffs and grabs his math textbook, slamming his locker in response. You and Evan share a look before giggling.
You both waved goodbye to Jared as he headed off, you and Evan heading in the other direction. âShould we stop it with the notes?â you asked him.
âI donât know. He has an outward expression of hating them, but last week he was just telling me how nice they make him feel. Maybe wait a few days before leaving another one just to see if he seems different?â
You nod before splitting up for your respective classes, but you knew you wouldnât be able to pay attention. The notes had started as a way to help Jaredâs confidence. He buried his insecurities behind memes and sarcasm, so you just wanted to show him that he was more than his coping mechanisms and that he really was a great guy.
But as you wrote more notes and really started thinking about Jared as a person, you found yourself falling for him. You had confessed to Evan the mess you had gotten yourself into, and he seemed sympathetic, deciding to help you maybe come up with a way to confess it was you that had written them.
However, now that Jared apparently didnât like the notes, you were worried that if he were to find out you did them, he would hate you. He even called it stalkerish for peteâs sake! How could he not hate you?
The morning went by in a blur, and you then realize youâre at lunch. Heaving a sigh, you tried to keep calm. He still didnât know it was you, everything was fine, you just had to act cool. But of course the universe had to work against you.
As you walked up to the table where your friends were sitting, Jared was talking about his plan for catching the âadmirerâ. âHandwriting sample. Iâm going to ask for peopleâs signatures for a fake petition and compare it to the notes. And if that doesnât work I can always use Murphy as a threat to get people to spill.â
âWait, which one of us are you talking about?â Zoe asked, confusedly gesturing between herself and Connor.
âEither of you, youâre both really scary when youâre angry. I think itâs a genetic thing.â The table burst out into laughter at that, but you still felt your blood run cold. Was Jared really willing to go through all that work just to find out about the notes. Trying to catch Evanâs eye to talk to him, you saw that he was looking directly at you, a stern look on his face. Or as stern as Evan Hansen could be.
Releasing a sigh, you knew that you had to come clean. After lunch, you pulled Jared behind some lockers and took a deep breath before blurting out, âI wrote the notes.â
âWhat?â Jared had asked, unable to believe it.
âI wrote them because I wanted you to see how amazing you are. Wanted you to see yourself the way I see you. I started around Valentineâs day because I was going to ask you out, but then I got scared and never did it. But I wanted you to know that it wasnât just because of the holiday, that no matter what time, I still feel that way about you. You can hate me if you want, but I didnât want you wasting time searching the rest of the school.â
Jared was silent after you said your piece, but then he did something that you would never have expected. He pulled you into a hug. His arms wrapping around you tightly and pulling you into his chest. Returning the embrace, you could tell that he appreciated your words, and their meaning.
When you were about to pull away, he pulled you back in, placing his lips on yours as his arms held you to him. You donât know how long you stayed like that, kissing behind some lockers, but needless to say, you both missed your next classes.
