While the Discomfort Beast can’t cause physical harm, it is very good at making humans extremely uncomfortable. It is rumored to be a corporeal manifestation of the word “moist.”
So some personal tips for me to myself while dming:
• Don’t anticipate the actions of players & base your story on that. Give yourself the information of the setting, NPC’s & quest in order to act around them, not an when this happens, this happens.
• Answer “What,” “When,” “Where” & “Why?” The how is up to the players (but don’t forget to make sure they have tools when they get there).
• Take notes. Let the players recap the scene themselves, Last Time on Dragonball Z is necessary.
• Get into your characters. What would they know? What do they do? Stats, skills, ect.
• Spend more time.

Pact demons. Based off of the crossroad demons from Supernatural. Made more for RP with the players as opposed to combat. These are creatures that have the ability to grant mortals almost anything, within the DMs discretion at least, but for a price. The price can be any number of things, from a small favor, to an assassination. I feel it really adds some fun options for players. And of course there are punishments for not following through with the deal. Oh! The claw attack should be +7 to hit. Whoops.

EDIT: These are the house rules that we follow when I’m the DM for my group as I use critical fails and success for fun flavour:
In 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons, rolling a natural 1 or 20 doesn’t necessarily mean a critical failure or success outside of attack rolls. (It’s not the standard.) A crit fail on an attack roll isn’t 5e standard either– penalties don’t inherently occur on a 1.

Based on a lot of how real people view The Scoobies, non-adventurers basically figure every adventuring party does a lot of fucking on the road.
Some people ship particular members of well known parties, while others figure it’s a big free for all, and these theories will frequently be discussed in taverns.
The accuracy of any given ship or theory depends on the party.
