a vaguely marxian analysis of elves
fantasy elves are an interesting depiction of indigeneity (obviously much less racist than the barbarian trope). folkloric elves essentially represented the feudal countryside's fear of nature, but capitalism's modernizations have lost the balance need for such. elves are depiction as essentially a superior version of humanity, they're more cultured, exist in-tune with nature & the more folksy things, & whose only real flaw is being too self-aware of their superiority, stagnate in perfection or depending of how misogynistic the author is are civilizationally doomed in their feminity. the petit-bourgeois perspective is that of a neo-luddite shared essence with cottage-core & solarpunk, a worship of the romanticized individualism of imperialist nations countryside, oft with undertones of the usual aryan mythology you'd expect of the group. the proletarian stance is elsewise. the elves can be seen as a symbol of a humanity having resolved capitalism's exploitative relation towards nature under the planned economy. the use of molded megafauna can be taken to represent the reconciliation of the city-countryside contradiction. the lax-artist aesthetic can be taken as a symbol of a materialism (the bias of an undeprived animal) without consumerism & with productive forces unbound from waste. indigenous back-&-forth mega-farming is quite capable of high yield, the reindigenization of humanity is not to be feared

the great blight of socialist realism in the imperialist countries doesn't understand melancholic art. the endless cannibalistic tributes to the great anti-feudal revolts against russian tsarism aren't expressions of revolutionary optimism, but divorced from the struggles of the masses. the masses live much of their lives rubbing up against the vast soulless base to which they're exploited. this sort of pessimistic worship of the insomniac hearts of the industry bordering upon the culturally lumpen is a clear reaction to the contradictions of decaying capitalism. taking ireland's troubles as our base, we must aim to refine all expressions of that which are edgy, intimate & bloody in service to the reconstitution of the militarized party. do away with art's rut of reactionization's evocation of an idealized past & post-moderninism's endless deconstruction for deconstruction's sake

musings on baeddelism
i don't agree with the common critique of baeddelism, as it relies on a distorted conception of the ideology. for simplicity's sake, let's just define baeddelism as the fusion of transfeminism and radical feminism, which believes transmisogyny is the apex of patriarchy, as it's the clearest shared target between misogyny & queerphobia. most critiques of it come from what's referred to as TMRAs (also transphobic cis women who're upset about not being the center of the world, but ignoring them). the argument begins as the baeddel suggests trans men are agents of misogyny (patriarchy of course fundamentally shapes standards of manhood), who're a sugar-coated bullet, due to rhetoric of experience with misogyny preventing repetition, this paired with a strong distaste for the very relatively privileged cis mainstream feminism leads many leads many baeddels to also dislike most cis women as. this leads TMRAs to the very superficial & bad faith suggestion that we (do keep in mind "baeddel" is a reclaimed slur, which they really shouldn't be using in their tirades) are reskinned TERFs, due to believing there's a bad gender, alternatively TMRAs make the even more absurd suggestion that baeddels believe in AFAB privilege & general AMAB oppression. i think baeddelism's current ebb unfortunate, as it's the highest development of the classical radical feminism's (the era before it was co-opted by the far right) social-constructivism
a marxian analysis of haibane renmei
haibane renmei is my favorite show. it's rather difficult to summarize. a literalist summation would say it's a somewhat rightist (ultra-centralist) commune fantasy in a purgatory. the show displays somewhat of a materialist conception of psychology given it's about learning to lean on relationships in a world of unknowns. Guri seemingly possesses a strange isolationist ethnocracy economy, with a mix of state capitalist & socialist characteristics, without a clear state or bourgeoisie (although it visually resembles the market form). ABe states the show is his religious views, displaying an existentialist agnosticism. the setting oddly resembles early versions of the myth of the Garden of Eden. the haibane can easily be interpreted as a migrant labor force within Glie, seemingly subjected to a state union, taking that perspective i'd suggest it's a utopian socialist fantasy for arts worker in a society who's Left failed to get off the ground. the meta angle to this is it's stated to representation ABe's finding salvation during his student years, this perspective can be interpreted as characterizing the alienation of the student non-class with all their endless dreams, devoid of knowledge of how capitalism's totalitarianism twists the life of labor. it's hard to say the nature of their national question, while Glie exchanges materials with the outside the contact is restricted, with the people possessing a metaphysical fear of breaking the emigration taboo, the odd exception being how the haibane renmei seemingly prepare the isolated haibane to move past beyond the town psychologically. all this can easily be interpreted as metaphor for the alienation of the youth under capitalism & the need for support in that struggle. under modern conditions this is especially poignant due to sharp cost of living-job requirement contradiction. interestingly the show's most visible class struggle is between the haibane & the backwards, arbitrary & totalitarian government
