The Luna Diviner

That was the bear she spoke of. Saix didn’t expect it to be so friendly to her, acting more like a pet dog than anything else. He did nothing to assist her being pinned by the bear, simply watched from a distance. In response to her question, he nodded. “Yes. For two days, you shall do what I say. For now, all I want is to know more of your world.”

“Curious,” he stated, “it must be waiting for the right moment to take your heart. Do you know of any keyholes in strange places?”

The the evening hours were giving way to the black of night and there was going to be a full moon tonight. The other members were growing restless, they knew one of them was a werewolf. While they joked about it being Saix, the last full moon proved them all wrong.

If Xaldin was not going to listen, then he would beat the Lancer into submission.

He rolled over and began to pick himself up but yelped in apparent pain and dropped back to the ground. Was he down and out? It couldn’t have been that easy. It wasn’t, for as soon as Saix was close enough to him the wolf jumped onto his feet and slashed at VII with his claws and teeth.

Unfortunately he was not going to get his answer until the night was over and Xaldin returned to a human form. Saix was startled by the sudden attack, and hard as he try to pull away from the blow, claws sank deep into his chest. He cried out in pain, blood spilling onto his robes. It was time to give in to the fury, the last chain of his patience broken. He lashed out, swinging his claymore viciously at Xaldin’s head. The following blows increased in intensity, but focused in one direction. All that mattered to Saix now was to put as much force behind the blows as possible, for even with a lower accuracy, it would require fewer hits to bring the beast down.

Riese blinked and spun around. “Huh?”

“Riku. My brother. Yeah, I know, Captain Douchebag.”

“The blood you share is obvious.” He moved closer, studying her. “Do you know where he is now?”

Saix turned away as he spoke. “A heart is required to feel lonely or have friends. Even now you are only remembering what it was like. You should know that by this point, and stop playing pretend. Too many are already distracted by the idea that they can have friends as a shell.”

“Don’t you miss talking to someone?”

“I had someone to talk to, once. He decided a puppet was more important to talk to.”

“Well,” she giggled, “Everyone could use a hug! It helps the brain! So this is also for you, medically.” Plus, even mean old Mr. Saïx could use a hug! And it was her job to make sure everyone was at 100%. Hugs made everyone feel better!

Her frown quickly morphed into a pout. “But that’s so boring!” she whined, leafing through the work. A few reports on medical things caught her eye so she pulled them out, then handed the rest of the stack back to Saïx. He could do his own stupid paperwork!

Riese blinked and spun around. “Huh?”

“They were best friends….” Demyx whimpered. “Also…you’re hurting me. Can you let go?”

“Friendship did not save him, then.” Saix grunted as he let go. “You cannot pretend as if you care so much. These tears are fake.”
