You, whipping off your sunglasses: “Hey, Nero, is that your Dad?”
Nero: Yeah, why?”
You: “Would you be mad if I...uhh.....”
Nero: “Oh my god, please kill me.”
You: “Would you hate me?”
Nero, sighing: “Yes, but not as much if you don’t tell me about it.”
You: “Deal.”
If anyone would feel bad, it would be Vergil. He would feel absolutely terrible for it. You know he’s hot for his son’s best friend, after being largely absent from his life and cutting his arm off. What a cherry on top.
He’s wondering why a twenty-something year old young thing like you would want him anyways. Surely he wasn’t worthy of love, let alone someone full of so much life.
You approach him first. You talk at him until he responds. He’s stubborn, so this takes quite a long time. Finally, you get past the mhm, responses.
You start peppering in questions. What’s your favorite music? Have you watched Hamilton? Can I see your sword? He becomes flustered with that last one.
You start reading over his shoulder, and pretty soon, you’re sitting thigh-touchingly close, reading together. The whole thing is very chaste, really.
He’s too difficult to make a move first, so one day you kiss him. The afternoon sun hits you right when you touch his lips. It’s a perfect moment, and he’s left speechless.
Once you get more serious, you have to have a talk with Nero. He’s not too fond of the idea of you potentially becoming his step mom. However, he’s your best friend, and he understands the connection you have.

Dante: “Wow, you really caught me off guard.”

When you go and tell Nero that you have a date with his uncle later that day, he laughs you out of the building.
