WTF are they doing to rhaenyra this season⌠theyâve made her so weak and powerless I almost think daemon deserves the throne instead. Itâs such an interesting spin to see how her grief as a mother differs to that of a father bc she carried and birthed her children. But man. Last episode and this one as well itâs like sheâs a child. She has no bite anymore and it doesnât make her seem âgoodâ it makes her seem weak and like what everyone says about how she doesnât deserve it is true, not bc sheâs a woman but because she canât handle anything
and that alicent scene with that weirdo. Why are they always doing this shit to her. The way they write sexuality around her character is so disgusting and thereâs never any depth about it. Just sheâs evil for siding with the men even though she was literally a child bride or sheâs evil for siding with rhaenyra and deserves to be sexually assaulted like what on earth is this writing
The irony of that Sabrina carpenter hair treatment ad where sheâs wearing a wig⌠who is buying that đ
I periodically remember a girl i used to follow on insta that was into reclaiming femininity and such and she had increasingly controversial takes until one day she straight up said period blood is disgusting and that itâs body waste just like shit is. She obv got called out for it and she defended herself by saying other women were just triggered and needed to look into their own wounds because what she had said was somehow Truth.
For a day or two I remember seeing comments on her post that I had seen previous times sheâd also posted some backwards take, of women actually commenting something like
âI was so triggered at first but after digging deeper I had to admit to myself that youâre right. Period blood is just like shit and itâs time we admit it. Thank you for opening my eyesâ
her account got deactivated soon after because people had reported her but it made me so sad and bewildered that somehow sheâd actually convinced other women that she was right. That some women were genuinely falling for not only misogyny disguised as enlightenment but also that they had bulldozed their own valid pain bc someone said it was a flaw of perception that needed correction.
I see this so much sometimes in online spaces especially around healing and I feel like it can be so easy for someone in an emotionally vulnerable position. Basically itâs being taught that the term âtriggeredâ is synonymous with âwrong.â As in, if something triggers you you need to open your eyes and accept that whatâs triggering you is actually right. And Iâm not saying thatâs never the case, but the way itâs assumed and used to never question their own takes is actually so dangerous, especially when you act like a teacher. like in this girlâs case where you can spew whatever bs you want and defend yourself by acting like youâre enlightened and everyone else is âtriggeredâ aka too emotional to see the truth.
Being triggered just means youâre having a flashback of some sort (emotional/somatic/psychologicalâŚ) and your system has an experience it hasnât finished processing. And if you get triggered when someone diminishes women like in this case or for whatever other reason it just means you have a sensitivity around that topic in particular for a reason in particular that is unique to you and your system is telling you hey, thereâs something unhealed here. And it also in cases like this one it probably just means you have common sense.
Once you process the flashback the trigger disappears but itâs not like your thoughts automatically change. They might. But going into a trigger with the expectation of âif I heal this Iâm going to finally accept this âtruthâ someone else wants me to believeâ can sometimes be gaslighting.
If someone automatically makes your normal emotions the culprit and doesnât even question something genuinely awful they said/did under the guise of being too advanced for âtriggeredâ people to understand then I tend to think they care more about the rush of being right and stroking their own ego than whatever they claim to be doing.
Why is giving free stuff to influencers smth that works for brands⌠what does it matter to me that you were given smth for free. Theyâre not giving it to ME why should i care
I get itâs like a pyramid scheme where theyâre really advertising to influencers so more people want to be influencers and advertise their brand. But like⌠seeing a brand give free stuff to some people doesnât make me want to buy whatever. Itâs rage bait actually

Iâve been wondering about how much of the standards we hold ourselves up to as women are just a result of what some creep wants to see. Les Werner founded Victoriaâs Secret? God
âI want you to do this with me for one month. One month. Write 10 observations a week and by the end of four weeks, you will have an answer. Because when someone writes about the rustic gutter and the water pouring through it onto the muddy grass, the real pours into the room. And itâs thrilling. Weâre all enlivened by it. We donât have to find more than the rustic gutter and the muddy grass and the pouring cold water.â
â Marie Howe, Boston Universityâs 2016 Theopoetics Conference (via mothersofmyheart)
Marie Howe:
I ask my students every week to write 10 observations of the actual world. Itâs very hard for them.
Ms. Tippett:
Really?
Ms. Howe:
They really find it hard.
Ms. Tippett:
What do you mean? What is the assignment? 10 observations of their actual world?
Ms. Howe:
Just tell me what you saw this morning like in two lines. I saw a water glass on a brown tablecloth, and the light came through it in three places. No metaphor. And to resist metaphor is very difficult because you have to actually endure the thing itself, which hurts us for some reason.
Ms. Tippett:
It does.
Ms. Howe:
It hurts us.
Ms. Tippett:
You naming something.
Ms. Howe:
We want to say, âIt was like this; it was like that.â We want to look away. And to be with a glass of water or to be with anything â and then they say, âWell, thereâs nothing important enough.â And thatâs whole thing. Itâs the point.
Ms. Howe:
Itâs the this, right?
Ms. Howe:
Right, the this, whatever. And then they say, âOh, I saw a lot of people who really wantâ â and, âNo, no, no. No abstractions, no interpretations.â But then this amazing thing happens, Krista. The fourth week or so, they come in and clinkety, clank, clank, clank, onto the table pours all this stuff. And it so thrilling. I mean, it is thrilling. Everybody can feel it. Everyone is just like, âWow.â The slice of apple, and then that gleam of the knife, and the sound of the trashcan closing, and the maple tree outside, and the blue jay. I mean, it almost comes clanking into the room. And itâs just amazing.
Ms. Tippett:
In some basic level, what theyâve done is just engage with their senses.
Ms. Howe:
Yeah, and have been present out of their minds and just noticing whatâs around them, which is â we donât do. And again, not to compare it to anything. Theyâre not allowed. And thatâs very hard for them. And then on the fifth or sixth week, I say, âOK, use metaphors.â And they donât want to. They donât know how. Theyâre like, âWhy would I? Why would I compare that to anything when itâs itself?â Exactly. Good question.
So then you think, why the necessity of a metaphor? Why do you have to use a metaphor now? Not just to do it to avoid it, but to do it to make it more there. And itâs very interesting.
The words and silences we live by. The rituals that sustain us. The poetry of ordinary time.
reading didionâs âon self respectâ again and again until i grow a backbone
âIt is the phenomenon sometimes called alienation from self. In its advanced stages, we no longer answer the telephone, because someone might want something; that we could say no without drowning in self-reproach is an idea alien to this game. Every encounter demands too much, tears the nerves, drains the will, and the spectre of something as small as an unanswered letter arouses such disproportionate guilt that one's sanity becomes an object of speculation among one's acquaintances. To assign unanswered letters their proper weight, to free us from the expectations of others, to give us back to ourselvesâthere lies the great, the singular power of self-respect. Without it, one eventually discovers the final turn of the screw: one runs away to find oneself, and finds no one at home.â
Who knew opening my heart wasnât about letting love in but letting love out
That lord Byron quote at the end of Frankenstein reminded me of that Japanese art of putting a vase back together with gold paste. Itâs not untouched but itâs still beautiful.
And not despite it. The creature isnât lovable despite his grotesqueness. Heâs lovable because of who he is, fully, grotesque appearance and all, because thatâs what makes him him. We arenât beautiful or lovable despite our scars and the way in which life has shaped us, to someone who meets us itâs all part of our story and who we are.
I feel like this is⌠Ardra or Rahu in general perhaps? I feel like this connects to Jupiter too but in Jupiter the imperfections are corrected, maybe in Rahu theyâre accepted and loved. I related to Elizabeth in Frankenstein too, seeing the humanity of the creature and offering him kindness and gentleness and being able to love him as he was. Admiring each personâs uniqueness. Very Barbie looking at that old woman with all her social âimperfectionsâ and thinking she was beautiful. That realization she had in that park bench, that life is beautiful because of its imperfections, and not despite them.

Best thing I did this year was to stop checking instagram. I followed a bunch of self help accounts and god⌠the fomo, the constant barrage of opinions of all sorts. Itâs like everyone is trying to convince you theyâre right. I checked the app for literally 5 mins and immediately felt like crap. You may not be an expert on the topic (and tbh maybe neither are they) but youâre an expert in you even if you donât know it yet, you just have to tune in to yourself and get info as needed on whatever arises instead of being open to any and all opinions
Makara, the vÄhana of Varuna | Shatabhisha
The deity commonly associated to shatabhisha is Varuna, lord of the oceans, sea, water, sky, maya (which he used for the purpose of rta) and also one of the guardians of rta (cosmic, moral law and order). He is depicted riding a makara, which is a sea monster but is illustrated as a crocodile like creature with characteristics of others animals. Interestingly, according to the âFive Years Of Theosophyâ, Ma is equivalent to five (Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology equates M to number 4 and A to number 1, so altogether it would be number 5) and Kara means hand. Building on this, the Theosophists (which are various contributors, H.P. Blavatsky, Mohini M. Chatterji, Damodar K. Mavalankar, and T. Subba Row to name a few) refer to the Sanskrit word trÄŤ-bhujam for triangle, where âtriâ means three and âbhujamâ means a side, and treat âbhujamâ and âkaramâ as symbolically interchangeable. Since the Chaldean and Pythagorean numerology system assigns the value five to âMaâ, they form the term ma-karam by combining âMaâ with âkaraâ, yielding a word meant to represent a five-sided figure (a pentagon).
As an extension of this, they argue further that because Makaram (a pentagon) is also the tenth sign and the Sanskrit term dasadisa refers to the ten âfacesâ or directions (north, south, west, east, northeast, southeast, northwest, southwest, up and down) of the universe, the sign (Capricorn) symbolically represents the structures of the cosmos. If those âfacesâ are understood as pentagonal (based on their interpretation of ma-karam) and if the universe is assumed to be symmetrically formed then itâs shape would correspond to a dodecahedron (a three dimensional shape made up of twelve pentagonal faces), the same geometric model Plato said the Demiurge used when constructing the material world. Now, that being said the makara is the vÄhana of Varuna. A vÄhana is the symbolic vehicle or mount of a deity in the Hindu pantheon, it represented the deityâs power, an extension of their domain, qualities and the type of energy they have mastery/control over. Varunaâs being the makara implies mastery over these cosmic structures or the material world, which is such a nod back to his title as the previous supreme ruler, before Indra became the supreme ruler but also to the sign of Capricorn because Makara is the name used for Capricorn in Sanskrit and itâs Aquarius that comes afterwards. The 11th house is the house of fulfillment of our desires (which comes from the 3rd house), which the nakshatra Varuna is associated with sits at the heart of Aquarius (the 11th sign).
Neville Goddard has his Sun and Ketu in Shatabhisha. He is known for teaching and writing about how our consciousness has this powerful influence over reality, meaning that people have an innate power to shape the world as they choose, either knowingly or unknowingly. That we are god and encouraged that we operate as so, through the means of consciousness. Much of his work forms the basis of the Law of Assumption, and many who practice Law of Assumption have likely encountered Neville Goddardâs teachings. Most of his focus is on the fulfillment of oneâs desires by living in the wish fulfilled, this info he gathered from his guru, the Ethiopian Abdullah. I believe that through his relationship with Abdullah, Neville was able to access the past-life abilities associated with his Ketu in Shatabhisha and share that knowledge with a broader audience (which based on Neville shared testimonies of those who attended his lectures, this knowledge has changed their life entirely and were also able to obtain mastery).
The late, wild-life conservationist Steve Irwin also has his Sun in Shatabhisha (Iâm sharing him here to show how makara can show up in other ways as well). Though he worked with a wide variety of animals, he felt a special gravitation toward crocodiles, dedicating much of his life to protecting them from danger and misunderstanding. His interest began very young, as he was introduced to reptiles, crocodiles and other similar animals early on because his father was a wildlife conservationist, keeper of their familyâs reptile park, and a herpetologist (someome who studies reptiles and amphibians). Steve grew up to be known in the mainstream as âThe Crocodile Hunterâ, but his true focus was on conservation, rescue and education rather than hunting. This strong connection with crocodiles is an example of how the energy of Shatabisha, symbolized by Varunaâs makara, can appear in a nativeâs life as well (a literal manifestation in Steve Irwinâs life).
P.S. Iâm not a professional or doctor so please do not see me as one.

Theres a difference between feeling smth and amping it up/making it bigger. If I know I struggle w my body image, I become aware and try to work with what is, not delve so deep I make it worse and worse. Like, once you delve deep you think ok what am I doing with this? Bc if not it swallows you whole
Travelling to a historic location and all we care about is is how many steps we walked. What the fuck
Saw Rosaliaâs Calvin Klein adsâŚâŚ.. made me think I rarely see underwear ads where I feel like the woman is owning her body and sexuality and not just posing for whoever is looking. For some reason

The self sacrificing cycle of women is soul crushing. To hear a woman talk proudly about what hard worker her mother was, how she sustained her family, only to then say she fell ill and died young from pure stressâŚ
You disconnect from yourself. Settle. Live a life you hate and that sucks you dry. You donât chase your dreams or what makes you happy. You die. Then people say how kind and hard working and selfless you were. How good that was.
Itâs just cruel and empty. Canât say anything good about it. Even the hard work or kind heart that could be praised just sounds like slavery, like torture, like self abandonment to me.
At a certain point you realize it has nothing to do with you and itâs just who they are
