     “ HEY ! ”    her  voice  was  BOOMING  ,  far  too  loud  to  be  ignored  as  told  by  the  fracturing  of  all  the  glass  within  half  a  mile  . it  was  enough  to  at  least  halt  the  plant  growth  and  general  ivy  brain  bullshit  that  was  happening  ,  even  if  for  just  a  moment  .  kara’s  descent  from  the  heavens  was  slow  ,  languid  even  .  poison  ivy  ,  one  of  harley’s  ‘friends’  that  she’d  heard  so  much  about  .  not  a  bad  person  at  heart  from  kara’s  understanding  but  her  methods  were  unsavory  and  unfortunately  like  most  gothamite  villains  had  a  penchant  for  murder  .

  “ How  about  a  parley  ?  Bruce  sent  me  to  talk  to  you  and  hopefully  we  can  come  to  some  sort  of  understanding  .  I’m  here  to  help  . ”  she  found  the  ground  beneath  her  a  few  feet  away  from  the  scientist  ,  hands  raised  as  a  show  of  good  faith  .  of  peace  .   “ I  can’t  say  I  blame  your  motives  but  you  can’t  just  attack  the  city  every  few  months  ,  Ivy  .  What  if  I  said  there  might  be  another  way  to  help  the  earth  ? ”

not  concerned  at  the  interruption     /     practically  expected.     her  attacks  do  not  go  unnoticed     ,          but  that  is  exactly  what  pamela  wants.     she  and  mother  nature  will  not  be  ignored     /     the  planet  dying  and  the  green  calls  to  her  for  help.     even  greets  the  kryptonian  with  a  smile.     cunning     /     intelligent     ,          will  not  roll  over  at  the  first  sign  of  power.     but  she  will  listen.     pamela  will  grant  kara  that  much.     the  vines  and  twisted  roots  come  to  a  halt  with  a  small  wave  of  her  hand.     her  red  head  inclining  to  the  side.

she  will  not  let  her  wildcat  go  that  easily.     a  claw  reaching  out  to  grasp  catra’s  arm     /     gentle     /     only  seeking  to  halt  her  progress.     her  escape.          ❛     no.     ❜          far  from  an  order  given  from  a  horde  officer     /     but  a  request  from  a  friend.          

                       violence for violence’s sake is the rule of the beasts  .  at least , that was why she figured the silhouette before her had  swayed  her blade away from her victim’s stomach , digging into the cold , silent air of the night rather than into meat and guts  .  death , for many , was not the answer to the crime epidemic her city was suffering from  :  after all , what solution did it offer to  reconcile  the good people of rivergrove , in what way did it honor the memory of those already lost to the war  ?  however , in order for nonviolence to work , your opponent must have a conscience  …  and unfortunately for the bat , addison’s lack of empathy towards human lives was  shared  with those who roamed the shadows  .

                      something  vicious  ignited in the pit of her stomach following the vigilante’s answer  ;  something vibrating with neediness and blinding rage  .  there was a part of her who wanted nothing more than to push her away and dig her claws into flesh , to part it and then  tear  it off like a flower’s petals  .  she wanted to see their blood trickled down from their chest , sticky like molasses and black in the evening’s twilight  .  she had to do it  ;  she  wanted  nothing more than to do it  .

                      upon seeing her questions ignored  —  the teenager failing to notice the  strain  in the other’s voice  —  a spark of scorn rekindled itself inside of her eyes , irrition burning hot coursing through her veins as she repeated her question  .   ❝   why  ?   ❞   why indeed should she let them live when they were as equally guilty as others of a crime most torrid that forever changed her life and that of her loved ones  .  why peace  ?  what good would public approval or even moral superiority  bring  her at the end of the day when all she had left now in place of a friend was cold stones and dead leaf echoes of laughter carried in the wind  ?

cannot  allow  another  to  fall  down  the  same  path  cassandra  once  walked.     perhaps  she  won’t  care     /     cassandra’s  attempts  ignored  completely     /     but  she  must  do  her  best.     for   she  has  felt  what  it  was  like  to  die     /     read  the  expression  on  the  man’s  face  as  she  killed  him     ,          it  shall linger  forever  in  her  memory.     and  while  addison  will  not  understand  the  same  language  as  cassandra     /     will  not  understand  the  feelings  that  will  pass  over  the  man’s  face     /     but  she  cannot  stand  and  watch  this.

cannot  voice  many  other  words  that  would  communicate  her  displeasure  with  these  actions     /     so  little  in  her  vocal  range     ,          does  naught  more  than  huff  when  she  is  constantly  questioned     /     not  quite  as  well  versed  in  intimidation  as  batman  is.     but  steadfast  in  her  beliefs  to  not  let  them  falter  now.

                    “ you know , when i asked for shield   to give me my own laboratory and my own crew , part of that is to give myself and my research some privacy . no distractions whatsoever . and i made it clear – ” bruce looks up from his research , turns to her , and offers a smile . “ – that part extends to family . no offense . how can i help you , jen ? ”

❛     what     ?          i’m  not  allowed  to  visit  my  cousin     ?     ❜          she  won’t  be  much  of  a  distraction     /     loud  in  a  courtroom     /     but  quiet  when  it  counts.     and  sure     ,          she  does  not  possess  the  same  mind  that  bruce  does  when  it  comes  to  science     /     not  here  to  learn.     has  her  own  work  to  focus  on     ,          head  filled  with  too  much  already.          ❛     should  have  made  it  more  secret  if  you  didn’t  want  anyone  just  walking in.     i’m  not  interested  in  your  research  if  that  helps     ?    ❜

❛     no          –––––––––––––––          i  don’t  think  so.     ❜          has  been  around  these  princesses  for  longer     /     some  of  them  even  talked  to  scorpia.     and  from  what  she  has  seen  of  bright moon     ,          it  is  not  all  perfect     /     though  it  certainly  does  look  like  that  from  the  outside.     but  all  the  princesses  are  different     /     and  even  have  their  problems  with  each  other     ,          they  work  together  in  a  way  some  people  in  the  horde  do  not.     there  is  a  sense  of  teamwork  that  differs  from  that  of  the  horde          (     though  there  are  some  similarities     ,          scorpia  fails  to  mention  them  to  the  others     )   

She’s quiet for a moment, listening to his story with a small smile. ‘Astra once taught me to fly. It wasn’t a plane – more of spaceship. A small one, admittedly’. She props her chin in her hand, watching him with a small smile. ‘But there was something about it… being out there among the stars…’ 

She trails off, and her smile widens a little. ‘We couldn’t see the stars from Argo. The sky was too polluted. We had star maps to study. But… being out there among the stars, being surrounded by them…’ she closes her eyes, and huffs a small laugh. ‘I’d never felt anything like it’.
