Clearly I had some fun with this one - the largest mushroom may have maybe turned into a spaceship!

Today's prompt is "Haunted," from Mab's Drawlloween Club 2021 prompt list.

So instead, I decided to draw the first thing that came to mind - to draw whatever Octobery thing I wanted. The result? A witchy-esque shoe/boot I would totally wear myself, especially to go tromping around in the woods.

August 28 marked 7 years since my mitral valve repair surgery. The valve continues to work well, but I do have an enlarged left atrial chamber (due to when too much blood was going the wrong way through the valve) which increases my risk of afib and stroke, increased risk of endocarditis due to the tech holding my valve together, scar tissue on my right lung from the pleural effusion I experienced a month after surgery…AND I have a genetic condition that gives me a higher likelihood of super scary blood clots. Vaccination and mask wearing were never a choice I really had the luxury of making in the negative. I could never pretend to question medical wisdom on the grounds of politics, conspiracy theories, thought exercises, or heady principles disconnected from reality. I could never pretend that following safety protocols was any sort of infringement on my liberty or religious freedom. I will get a booster shot as soon as possible. I will continue to wear a mask in public indoor settings. I will continue to believe scientists and healthcare workers. I will NOT be cavalier with my precious life and health, nor with that of others. Yes, I am angry. I am also alive, and thankful to be so.

Aaaand I got my second Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine dose today!! Followed by celebratory small custard cones (via a drive thru, naturally!). Another good, efficiently-run and friendly-staffed experience!! And driven over an hour each way by @nathanlloyd4245 !!💕 So thankful that this body (which has given me some tricky surprises over the years) is now in the process of learning, right at this moment, how to fight Covid-19. Got my first dose of the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine today!! Brought documentation of my heart condition, etc., just in case, but didn't need to show it. Vaccination site was nice, clean, and open, efficient, with lots of safety protocols in place, staffed by very friendly people! And my second dose has been scheduled.
