I’ve heard about Shinkyoku 3 aka “new song 3”, it was the early version or indies version of mazohyst of decadence. briefly played in a documentary from a long time ago and I was able to record it and remove Die’s speaking voice over it. I was wondering if you had any recollection of other recordings, or if it exists other than just the documentary I mentioned?

Feels like this needs to be said: Nobody is entitled to anything I post online.
I'm not saying that everything I post is my own, but most of it comes from my own research, my own time and most importantly, my own funds. I've probably spent well over 1k on DEG-related media by now, as well as the research and curation on the DEGwiki.
I do this because it's fun, not for attention or any monetary gains. I don't earn anything through it and the person behind this account and the DEGwiki is completely anonymous.
When I post something online, I do it of my own volition, not because the fandom is entitled to it. I don't owe anything to anyone and could keep all my research, media etc. private, it would be well within my rights.
But I like to share some of what I have, because I know that others share my interests and like seeing the things I post. In return, all I ask for is that other people respect the manner in which I share it. If I want to watermark it, respect it. Because otherwise, you probably wouldn't have seen it at all.
And keep in mind, almost nothing I post online is watermarked. And people repost it without giving credit, of course. I have to live with it. But if I watermark something and you go the extra mile to remove the watermark, because you'd rather have an incomplete image than respect my wishes... then why should I ever post anything again?
Edit: Since this might not be clear - me watermarking stuff doesn't mean that I take credit for creating said stuff. Of course I didn't take those La:Sadie's photos myself, back in 1996. I watermark stuff to show ownership of it. It's like buying a wall and spray-painting my name on it. It's my own wall, I can do with it what I want and it's nobody's business what belongs on my wall and what doesn't.
See, and this is why I don't share much original DIR EN GREY content: People take it, intentionally remove my watermarks and repost it without mentioning me in any way. Despite me being the one who spent time and money buying and digitizing them.
Fuck you. Not only is it disrespectful not to credit me, it's an absolute asshole move to go as far as removing my watermark. Fuck. You.
Oh and you know what? Because you did this, I will never post the 80 other never-before seen La:Sadie's photos that only I have the negatives of.
I'm may get hate for this, and personally, I do not like to repost scans like this but that's my personal choice as I do enjoy a lot of DEG pages.
BUT the ONLY person who deserves actual credit for things like this IS THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK THE ACTUAL PHOTO and any other people who may have been involved in the creative process. THAT'S IT. Buying and scanning a photo isn't a talent that warrants a watermark. That in itself is rude to the actual photographer. I get people have their social media pages that they curate and work on but you have no rights to those photos.
Real artists have their work stolen on a daily basis and this is nowhere near the same. I consider people not sharing scans like this a courtesy and that's it. Maybe you shouldn't be sharing these things if you're doing it for attention as opposed to just enjoying with other fans.
I bought the negatives, not the photos. So yes, I hold the rights to them.
And even if I had only bought the photos, I'd still watermark them because I'm the one who spent the money and time on them. If any other fan wants to post them without a watermark, they should've bought them themselves. Nobody is entitled to seeing these photos without a watermark.
And even with a watermark, you can still enjoy the photos, it's not obstructing anything but the date. Cutting off the watermark despite that is disrespectful. If I hadn't bought them, you maybe would've never seen them in the first place.
You talk about enjoying things with other fans, but refuse to consider the wishes of those that enable you to enjoy these things in the first place.
Hi! I'm the one who told you that the 無秩序 lyrics kyo posted on Instagram were complete. Well, the same thing happens with "a humble border" but in this case, the line 全ては揃ったがヒロインだけが不在 is hard to catch since kyo sounds pretty muffled in that part.
Yup, I've added all the new lyrics to the wiki already, but they are still hidden. I was hoping someone could help me figure out which songs are complete, so thank you! :)
Is a humble border the only one he posted the complete lyrics of?

Dir en grey invited Motoya Shiraishi, a producer and composer, to their 06/26 show in Shibuya. He commented that 25 years ago feels like yesterday, so he must have known them since their debut.
Surprised nobody mentioned who the guy is. He's the (former?) A&R director for EastWest Japan and was involved with the band during their first two albums (although MACABRE was released on Firewall Div., so not sure if he was still working at EWJ at that point).
Hi! I wanted to ask you if you know about the existence of blogs with people trying to figure out the lyrics of mazohyst of decadence (2022)?
I don't think so, maybe 2ch or similar sites.
Edit: lol, completely misread. No, I don't know any blogs or sites that tried to decypher the lyrics. But you can search google for the one line we know (see the wiki page), maybe that will yield any results. :)
All lyrics, romaji and official translation of DIR EN GREY's new single The Devil In Me are up on DEGwiki: https://degwiki.com/wiki/The_Devil_In_Me_(2024)
Hi! with the fact that 残 -ZAN- is getting a second remake. What others DIR songs have been remade more than once or have multiple studio versions?
As always thank you for all the things you bring to the community!
Hmm, certainly not many!
Sangeki no Yoru became Kiri to Mayu, which was then remade on the Rinkaku single.
Karma has a demo version with slightly different lyrics, the Kaede ~if trans...~ version and the remake on THE UNRAVELING.
Ash has four versions: On the Behind the Mask omnibus CD, on Kaede ~if trans...~ (as a re-recording), then as a remake on Myaku and again on Ningen o kaburu.
DOZING GREEN has the Japanese and English versions, but also a Before Construction Ver. with different lyrics.
And those are all with more than one studio version, I think.
Some songs were performed live in various versions, such as Byo""Shin, Cage, mazohyst of decadence (which was later recorded in the studio), Yokan, Fukai (probably the most famous live version), and others were performed as unplugged versions that were never recorded in the studio, such as 304-goshitsu, Hakushi no Sakura.
perhaps this is actually an easy question and I am very poor at researching but I’ve been trying to find the definitive dates of the male only shows DEG held in 2009 and I can’t? I know that they were Tokyo and Osaka and that they were in April, I’ve even found footage of the live, but vk.gy says 3 shows in April 2009 were rescheduled due to Kyo having medical issues and those rescheduled shows were not in Osaka or Tokyo. I’m so sorry if I’m just misunderstanding something, thank you in advance!
What makes you think that they were in April? They took place on March 18 and 25, at IMP Hall and CLUB CITTA', respectively. This was before Kyo had health issues in April. :)

Do you know if Dir en grey are close friends with other members of famous bands? Do they attend their concerts or post about them on their blogs?
Good question... I feel like Die and Kaoru would have the most ties to other bands. Kaoru seems to be friends with Hazuki rom lynch. I think the band in general kept decent relationships with the bands they toured with abroad, namely Apocalyptica and Deftones. I guess they're somewhat close to LunaSea too. Kyo appeared on Sugizo's channel once or twice, so they're probably not strangers to one another? Die seems to have the most pictures featuring others, such as Marty Friedman from Megadeth. Oh and Shinya is close to Gackt somehow! And I have no clue who the other drummers he plays boardgames with on YouTube are hah.
I don't know what kind of relationship they kept with Yoshiki since he helped them on their debut album...
All of them are good friends with many other musicians, but Shinya probably takes the cake. He seems to know/get along with seemingly each and every other bandman, active or inactive, except for Kisaki lol
The wholesome-ish friendship between Shinya and Kyo
Their latest playful Q&A in Haiiro no Ginka vol. 100 has prompted me to compile examples of this weird but overall wholesome relationship that Kyo and Shinya have and which is not obvious at first.
Situation #1
In October 2017, Kyo gifted Shinya with a custom white version of a MadaraNingen one-piece. As far as I remember, that article of clothing was not available for purchase in white at all, to the public. And of course, we all know that Shinya prefers to wear white.
Situation #2
I think that in response to Shinya sharing a video of him briefly playing with the minicars that were sold as tour goods in This Way to Self-Destruction, Kyo posted a story on Instagram of him revving up a bunch of mini-cars and persistently making them hit his phone propped up on a counter and displaying a picture of Shinya. At age 43. To which Shinya made an Instagram post vaguely hinting that: "Good children should not play with the mini-cars to hit someone's picture!"

Shinya's translated response
Situation #3
In late 2022-early 2023, Shinya publicly celebrated his bandmates' birthdays via emojis on Twitter, and Kyo was the only one to respond, in kind.
Situation #4
Kyo posted a cryptic picture of Shinya's video meeting with Mana in an Instagram Story and he has mentioned on Twitter at least once that he was watching Shinya Channel (the making of the FaFa onigiri).
In the same vein, Shinya took his failed attempt at needle-felting a pink bunny in March 2022 and turned it into a miniature hammer-wielding bunny in October 2022, in response to sukekiyo unveiling their Mosaic Shoujo PV which featured Kyo in the killer bunny suit.
Situation #5
This very old video of Kyo teasing Shinya by pinching the side of his dress, Shinya reacting by pushing Kyo a bit and Kyo falling into a robot dance in response.

Situation #6
The coffee maker. In one of the live talks held during the COVID-19 pandemic at concert venues, Shinya mentioned having a coffee maker which was of no use to him, and Kyo expressed interest in taking it from him. Later, in the Galacaa livestream talk between the two, it was revealed that Shinya had promised to give Kyo his coffee maker, but he never pulled through on that offer. Kyo, sporting a doodled face to hide his own, insistently questioned Shinya on this unreliability when the topic was brought up by fans in the comments. Shinya kind of struggled but ended up explaning that the coffee maker was really useless because of a defect, that it would not have been an appropriate gift anymore. But he forgot to update Kyo about it after he tried to contact the manufacturer. Kyo replied like: "Oh, alright then."

Report by とあ on twitter (topics
At some point, Kyo took the matter to Twitter, confronting Shinya about it with their respective member photos to illustrate the dialogue, and Shinya replied the same way.

Kyo: So where's that coffee maker?
Shinya: Thinking it's somewhere in my kitchen I forgot about it🥺

Situation #7
In that same livestream, Shinya is so used to Kyo's bullshit by now that he completely ignores Kyo's doodle face sheet and casually leans forward to look past him and at the interviewer, sat on Kyo's right. After a while of this, the interviewer points out to Shinya that Kyo is insistently staring at him with this disturbing face, which is when Shinya becomes startled and nervously laughs upon realizing that, also making Kyo chuckle.
Situation #8
More often than others, Shinya and Kyo are documented chatting on the chairs backstage while they wait for everyone to be ready to start the show. Maybe there's something to be said of how they are the two members of the band to leave the stage the quickest, while Kaoru, Toshiya and Die stay for a while to throw picks.
Situation #9
Miscellaneous pictures of the two:
Situation #10
Apparently it was Shinya's earbuds that Kyo used to play with the cat (also Shinya's?) in this famous old video.
Situation #11
Other interactions on Twitter include commentary regarding the song battles that fans were voting on via that same website, during live broadcasts from their manager Fujieda on Galacaa. Kyo and Shinya were the only two members reacting to the songs that were pulled out of the box, Kyo sometimes replying to Shinya's own tweets wondering what he meant or outright questioning his preference.

Another interaction consisted in Kyo copying Shinya's tweets regarding the release of their Phalaris album and twisting Shinya's cute comments into hellish versions.

Shinya: We're releasing an album! Definitely get it k!ʕ•̫͡•ʔ

Situation #12
Probably a bunch of elusive comments throughout the years, but here's an example of something that Shinya said about Kyo in a magazine interview.

By the way, apparently drums and vocals were the first to be completed for this song.

Situation #13
In Haiiro no Ginka vol. 100, the members were asked to send each other member five questions. Some chose to personalize them based on what they actually wanted to ask of the others, while a couple decided to send the same questions to all, but members were not told who the questions came from. Kyo picked up on that anonymous part of the game and when answering Shinya's set of questions, he ended each of his short answers with a second sentence that can either just be the Kansai dialect for: "Aren't you Shinya!", or in other dialects, translates more to: "Shinya, you bastard!" hahah. From what I saw, nobody else hinted at who they thought the questions came from in their answers. In reverse, Kyo took up two of his five alloted questions for Shinya with the simple statement: "You don't know you're dead yet!", a quote from Fist of the North Star which is highly intimidating as it hints that someone has defeated the character so easily and lightning-fast that they are a dead man standing, their body having trouble catching up with the reality that they were slaughtered. Shinya, in response to that repeated tease, stubbornly replies in his polite and formal Japanese that: "No, I'm not dead." Their Q&A with the other members were not nearly that quirky.
... Did I miss any? And there will undoubtedly be more to come!
Thank you very much to shinyaburashka for your help!
Funny that you post this today, because November 21, 2023, marks the 28th anniversary of Kyo and Shinya first performing together in a band (pic from that day below).
Shinya and Kyo also share the oldest friendship out of all the five DIR EN GREY members, as they met for the first time in August or September 1995.
Do you know what cars do Diru members drive? Was it ever mentioned in any of their blogs?
Sorry for the delay, I forgot to reply to this.
Kyo and Shinya drive very small cars of changing colours!
But more seriously, Fujieda confirmed that Shinya barely ever drives, which explains that he has an outstanding driver record. As for Kyo, I remember that he was once asked what his preferred method of transportation is between the train and biking, and he answered that he prefers to walk even if it takes a long time.
For the rest, I think there was an anecdote about Die almost causing an accident, or Toshiya? There's also the very old story about the band driving a (red?) car without snow tires up to rehearse with Toshiya in the early days of the band, but I'm not even sure that they mentioned who was driving.
But otherwise, I have no clue if they even own a car. Keep in mind that public transit is super convenient in Japan and in Shinkansen, people can choose the more "VIP" cars which are more private, like Kaoru failed to be able to get into once so he had to stand in a packed car with fans and other members of the public because it was the last train of the day.
🥺 i'm sorry for bothering you with such a silly question but i will really appreciate it if you'd spend your precious time to answer this 🙇♀️ I really really love your blog, twitter, degwiki and youtube since i also love to discover and collect things like old photos, cds, flyers,... 🥹 But do you know anyone who posted live house ticket scans(?)? I've never seen one so far (since im really new here) but if there's any chances please let me know. Thank you so much!! 🙏🙇♀️😭🫂 My English is not good so i hope there is no problems the way i said so you can understand what i mean... 🥺
(just in case you don't understand what did i mean, i do have some photos as example but i dont know how can i send you 🥹)
Tickets are very rarely scanned, but you can find lots of photos on twitter, I'd guess :)
