I need to go to hospital next month for my GUTS and I will be under anesthetic this time and I was sooo anxious about asking my friend to accompany me but they said YES 🥰 Also the sun is shining, Huasheng took his medicine like a good boy this morning, I am back at work but don't have anything to do so I'm just clicking around drinking coffee, I had a lemon butter spaghetti for lunch and custard puffs for dessert. Enjoyed the odyssey but Nolan’s Woman Problem was to the point of self parody this time DJDJFJ… Zendaya just shows up in a headscarf and gives Matt Damon meaningful looks and that was the whole character of Athena, there was no suggestion she did anything to affect the plot. Anne Hathaway Penelope was somehow crying in every single scene? Calypso is just Charlize Theron suntanning on a beach looking like she was in one of her adverts.

I like to put Cat TV on for Nian Nian (he LOVES it, esp videos with bugs and lizards) but an unintended consequence is whenever I am watching Human TV Nian Nian starts meowing “When’s the lizard gonna show up? This show sucks”

Re: the vampire lestat. I think the biggest problem is Gabriella — leaving aside that the book character is obviously way cooler, her motivation for the great conversion isn’t very clear except that she is a bad guy doing bad guy stuff. Actually it would’ve made more sense if she was, like book Gabrielle, more truly wild, truly animal and distanced from humanity. A comparable plotline is in Buffy season 2 when Angelus also wants to unleash hell on the world but he has a very legible, very urgent motivation (he is furious and disgusted by the humanity he displayed while he was Angel and now wants to purge humanity wherever he sees it) and his actions align with what we know about his character (grandiose and dramatic). Gabriella we know generally hates men and hated her domestic role when she was human… hundreds of years ago. Pretty slow burn revenge if you ask me…
