Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).

When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".

When the boat is still being built, your say "it".

When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".

When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".

When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.

If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").

If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")

If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").

If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.

If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.

I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.

Your chest look bigger" when I a) had top surgery last year because said chest was giving me dysphoria af b) am a perfectly normal weight. Like literally shut up. I haven't felt dysphoria about my chest in months. Why cant she just shut her fucking mouth about my body. She knows im not happy with it. And ive been doing so good being confident in myself for the past months. But every few days or weeks there's a comment about my stomach or my wrinkles or my scars and I just look at her like -_- because why say that. I'd never tell someone who went trough a surgery and half a year of painful recovery for getting their chest flat that it looks bigger now. And it doesn't even look like boobs. It looks like the slightest bit of man boobs because guess what, even cis men have fat there unless they're super skinny. I'm so mad about this, I dont know if im over reacting but for fucks sake. A few years ago she was making comments about me being too fat, then too skinny, then too fat, then even now that im right in the middle she cant shut up about me eating too much junk or having a stomach. Like yeah, there's organs in there, it will have rolls. Like oh, im sorry that legs exist. I'm sorry that I have a face thats gotten used to a frown as default after going trough 8 years of being horribly depressed and just barely being better now. I'm sorry that I've gotten comfortable enough with myself to have my hair long and wear clothes that I like instead of fitting into a fucking mold. Like what the hell is this shit, what goes on in someone's head that they say that kinda stuff to someone, let alone their own kid? And like I laugh it off because what tf else am I supposed to do, if I react badly she gets pissed.
