I've learned a lot of intellectualist "epic dunks" just kinda make you sound like the notes from the underground guy
i always think about the line where his old college buddies bring up "the immortality of Shakespeare" in an effort to include him in the conversation, and he use the opportunity to scoff at classmates that are literally just trying to have a normal conversation with him.
Like yeah maybe discussing Shakespeare in those terms is a little anti-intellectual. But his scornful little outburst didn't put them in their place. They just thought he was a dick.
