Jesus was a carpenter, he had to use his own creativity to make stuff.

If me and you are made in God's image, that includes mental illness.

If me and you are made in God's image, that includes intellectual disabilities.

I always remember St. Herman of Alaska, who could not help but cry at such sight of cruelty that the natives experienced. The same people who eagerly came to him for baptism and for the stories of Saint. The same people he nurtured and joyfully laughed with, the same small kids who were forced into labor and sexual abuse. At such a sight the toughest man shall crumble down crying, knowing his dear children are hurt.

How dare you not pray and pray and be loud with your voices on the abuse that is happening in the world? Why are you silent with the mouth that the Lord gave you? How can you look your dear brother and sisters in the eyes after not doing anything to help them?

Jesus Christ did not shy away from helping the needy and poor, no matter the consequences. He did not care about the watchful eyes of authorities writing down his help. St. Herman, watching his dear children being hurt, did not care about the abuse he faced when he helped the oppressed natives. The natives who were sentenced to starvation and abuse.
