Perhaps the most extraordinary sorrow is that God himself helps me. That a mere mortal is in the centre of attention of the Lord.
Sometimes it's very funny how catholics, or even eastern orthodox believers of all people fall for the American evangelical propaganda of a tradwife. An idea of a docile housewife who only does domestic work and raises children that would make the typical medieval, devout peasant faint.
How could people who have the tradition of "Ora et Labora" ever think this is what a woman is supposed to do. How can European catholics and orthodox, whose ideal woman for centuries was the strong peasant woman, doing arduous and tough work, and also the head of the family since she takes care of most things in the house, think a mindless housewife who dresses in (often vain) floral dresses and makes jam all day is the most virtuous woman.
How can people who have women like Zippora in the Bible, who went with Moses instead of staying at home and and even saves him from God's wrath, think a woman needs to passive all the time. The blessed Mary, Saints like St. Hildegard all exist, and yet a woman is supposed to be nothing virtuous. The 'tradwife' ideal is nothing more than a creation of the so heavily imposed American lifestyle, a reflection of a puritanical Christian culture, but it seems that the biggest contenders of it are anything but Protestant.
I am but dust yet still loved by eternity. How peculiar it is that dust, which simply flows out between fingers, is instead poured into the beating heart of the Divine, so velvety, so warm.

Drowning in entertainment means to distract yourself by all means. You may whistle to a dog as much as you want, but so long as he is entertained he won't care. Christ could've been louder at the Temple, he could have shown more miracles, but nothing would be sufficient for the people, for the Pharisees, who did not believe.

Perhaps when Christians start taking "beauty will save the world" seriously, the phony minimalist, sterile, soulless gray boxes of worship places will cease to exist and beauty will start being seen not as an optional feature but rather the reflection of the Divine.

Like a child the shepherd hides behind the bush to see if God really drinks it, and indeed he did not, but rather a fox. Moses tells him to be happy, you know more about God! But now the shepherd can not express his love the only way he knows anymore, this small tribute that he works every day for, and weeps. Yet God himself tells Moses he was mistaken.
"Moses, you were wrong. It is true that I am pure spirit. Nevertheless, I always accepted with gratitude the milk which the shepherd offered me as the expression of his love, but since, being pure spirit, I do not need the milk, I shared it with this little fox, who is very fond of milk."
I remember still the speech of a priest who told all about a rock that was thrown at a display of an icon of Christ outside, the Priest then proceeds to use the rock as the first brick of a monastery, or perhaps of a hospital. For out of hatred love grows, this symbol of detestation shall be the one who holds all the bricks together as the house is served for the poor.
