This was the longest flight heâd been on in a long time and by the time the wheels even touched the ground his nerves were a complete mess. Him and Debbie barely fought, mostly because he knew when it was too much and would back off before it ever got to the point where she was a mess, but this time was different. Heâd overstepped a line and he knew that. Nineteen hours later, he was more than ready to fix them. He couldnât lose her, without Debbie, he didnât know who he was. It was safe to say that she was the very breath in his chest.
It didnât take him long to get to her room, and once he did, he pulled the key from his pocket and pushed the door open quietly. His heart all but shattered when he took a step into the room and saw her laying on the bed curled into a ball. âStep outside in the midnight rain, king and queen of the streets again..â He started to sing as he moved closer to the bed, letting the door close behind him. âGot young blood running through our veins, and it keeps us numb like Novocain.â He continued as he climbed onto the bed, his arms wrapping around her tightly as he pulled her close to his chest. âAlright, we can go all night, âcause we got a whole lot of fight in us, and I see a long road that we gotta follow before tomorrow catches up.â He sang as he held her in his arms. // @debbiewollâ
She knew Alex was coming despite her telling him not to, and though she was broken right now, she was thankful that he wasnât listening to her. She wasnât sure how much time had past, but with the opening of her hotel door, she knew it had of been a decent amount of time. It wasnât until she heard him singing to her did the tears start to well up again. He knew that the one way to calm her down was to sing to her, and the fact that he chose that song out of all the songs him and his band wrote, it showed her just how much he actually listened to her. She hated that she was like this. She hated that her past had turned a once so bright woman, into something she didnât even recognize.Â
As he laid down next to her, Debbie found herself curling into his chest as he rubbed soft circles to her back, causing the tears to slowly come to a halt. Arms slinking around his waist as he sang ââcause we got a whole lot of fight in usâ Deborah couldnât help but find comfort in that lyric. It was true and she knew it. Despite how hurt she was, she was still willing to fight for this man. She was willing to fight for not only his love, but for her son to have a dad. Despite what she came here to do, she knew where her family was.Â
