Somewhere in Neverland

“I really didn’t think you were going to come. Plus what KJ eventually told me–well I thought that was it. I’m really happy that isn’t the case, because I really don’t want to lose you.” Looking back on the whole ordeal, she knew she didn’t help the situation, but she was willing to make it work despite what had been said. “What should we do now that you’re here?”

“There was no way I was going to let you go through this alone. I know the things that I said, but they were all out of anger.” He shook his head. He knew he said some things that never should have been said but they were and he couldn’t take them back, all he could do was try to make it all better and work on fixing the things that had went wrong. “For now, I just want to lay here with you and hold you. It’s been far too long.”

“You’re here now. Let’s not focus on what we can’t change, and let’s just focus on getting back into a good spot, because I don’t like fighting with you. I don’t like making you angry, and I want to try and avoid that at all cost.” Moving her long red hair and pushing it to one side of her head so it wouldn’t get tangled or pulled, Deborah nestled into his neck as he held her. “I love you too.” Looking up at her boyfriend with a smile finally spreading across her face, Debbie couldn’t help the shift in her mood by just having him here with her. “I can’t believe you came anyways.”

“I don’t like fighting with you either, I hate it to be honest, it always makes me feel like complete crap.” He spoke softly as he shifted on the bed. Grabbing the blanket, he pulled it across the both of them as he laid his head back on the pillow. “Of course I came, you need me. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I stayed at home?” He questioned with a small laugh as he looked at her keeping his gaze locked as his hand moved to run fingers through her hair.

It wasn’t my plan to tell him, it was when I saw him, I was just..overcome with guilt. I mean I haven’t physically seen him in how many years? I get his reaction, I understand where you’re coming from, but I had it in my head, and there just wasn’t any going back from that. I’m stubborn to a fault, and I really need to work on that. I’m sorry for hurting you though. Will you come lay with me again? I don’t want to fight with you, I really don’t. 

“You were so hurt, and I wasn’t here. I don’t like that, Debs.” He spoke softly as he moved slowly to lay in the bed with her, his arms moving to wrap around her once more as he kept her close to his chest. “I love you Debbie”

I know I should of included you in this more. I know I didn’t handle this situation well, but I also wanted you to see that I wasn’t handling it as well as I should of. That in that moment, I needed my calm and level headed boyfriend to talk me from a ledge I was dangerously teetering on. You’re right though. I shouldn’t of even told him. Or I should of waited until we could do it together. I just..I wanted to get it over with, and I’m sorry for not taking you into consideration.”

I understand that it took a lot to tell him. But I didn’t even know you were coming here to tell him. Had I known, I would have come with you to avoid this exact moment right here. I know you needed me, and you have no idea how much it killed me to know that you were hurt and I couldn’t be there for you, that you had to go through it alone. I don’t like shit like that and you know it. I’ve been your shoulder for years.

Running a hand through her hair, the woman sighed as she looked up at him. “I’m sorry. You’re right, I should really be thankful that you’d even fly all the way here.” She was mad, she wanted to yell at him, but she knew that wouldn’t help. So instead, she swallowed her pride and held her hand out to him. “Come back here, please?” 

He sighed as he moved to sit on the edge of the bed. “I just don’t get it, yeah, I understand that I’m supposed to think about how you feel, but has it occurred to you to think about how I feel? Remember that I had no say in this who mess.” He spoke as he turned his head to look at her. “You made the choice to come here and tell him without me, and I did the best I can to support, but when it all backfires, you want to yell at me for getting pissed off at him and his behavior.” 

Deborah tried her best to hold the scoff from leaving her lips, but once it was out, there was no taking it back. She knew he was trying, but it didn’t stop images of his texts flashing through her mind as she remembered what he had said to her. “Don’t say you’re sorry, because I really don’t feel like you are. Are you sorry for hurting me like that? Sure, I won’t deny that, but there must of been a level of truth to your words.” As she was starting to calm down from crying, the feeling was replaced by one of anger. “You knew this was hard enough for me, I really needed you to be my support, Lex. I needed you to hold me together, because I sure as hell couldn’t do it on my own. I know you’re scared, but try thinking how I felt yesterday.” 

“Wow.. Okay Deborah.” He spoke the words as he moved from the bed them. “So we’re just-” He shook his head as he looked at her for a moment. He wouldn’t deny that he was hurt. He’d dropped everything and crossed countries to be with her and there was nothing worse than feeling like he wasn’t even welcome. “I’m not doing this.” He spoke as he grabbed his shoes and his jacket. “I didn’t come all the way down here for you to make me feel like shit for doing just that.”

Ah, yeah, that would make it a wee bit harder. How old’s her son? Maybe ye can take him with ye whilst he’s on a break from school. British folk are starting to name their kids weirder names, now - like, ones that have weird spellings just so they’re ‘unique’. The kids are no gonnae be able to spell their own name til they’re a teen. He’s called Jack and he’s from Lebanon? Amazing. He hoped he might have a more unusual name, but nope, gets plastered with the most common name going. Poor sod. 

He’s seven. He’s a great little kid. I have to talk to his mom about is taking a little family vacation together. Get him to see more than just Baltimore and Los Angeles. Let’s be honest here, it’s not just the British folk that are naming their kids weird shit, it’s pretty much everybody now which is why I am grateful that my girlfriend named her son Elijah. I would rather have a common name than one no one knows how to spell, not even me. Feel so bad for those kids. Yep, he was born and his parents just said ‘fuck it, we’re calling him Jack’

She knew Alex was coming despite her telling him not to, and though she was broken right now, she was thankful that he wasn’t listening to her. She wasn’t sure how much time had past, but with the opening of her hotel door, she knew it had of been a decent amount of time. It wasn’t until she heard him singing to her did the tears start to well up again. He knew that the one way to calm her down was to sing to her, and the fact that he chose that song out of all the songs him and his band wrote, it showed her just how much he actually listened to her. She hated that she was like this. She hated that her past had turned a once so bright woman, into something she didn’t even recognize. 

As he laid down next to her, Debbie found herself curling into his chest as he rubbed soft circles to her back, causing the tears to slowly come to a halt. Arms slinking around his waist as he sang ‘’cause we got a whole lot of fight in us’ Deborah couldn’t help but find comfort in that lyric. It was true and she knew it. Despite how hurt she was, she was still willing to fight for this man. She was willing to fight for not only his love, but for her son to have a dad. Despite what she came here to do, she knew where her family was. 

When she curled up into his arms, he pulled her as tightly as he could to his chest. He closed his eyes for just a moment before he looked at her. “I’m so sorry Debs.” His tone was a whisper as he kicked his shoes off before climbing onto the bed more. He didn’t want to be to far from her and that showed with the way he clung to her like she was his lifeline to the world. “I didn’t mean to make you cry.” He spoke as his hand moved to grip the edge of the blanket, pulling it over their bodies as he laid his head down on the pillow. Lifting his hand, he rested it lightly on her cheek. “We can get through this together.” He added as he kissed her forehead, his thumb moving to brush the tears away from her eyes.

It didn’t take him long to get to her room, and once he did, he pulled the key from his pocket and pushed the door open quietly. His heart all but shattered when he took a step into the room and saw her laying on the bed curled into a ball. “Step outside in the midnight rain, king and queen of the streets again..” He started to sing as he moved closer to the bed, letting the door close behind him. “Got young blood running through our veins, and it keeps us numb like Novocain.” He continued as he climbed onto the bed, his arms wrapping around her tightly as he pulled her close to his chest. “Alright, we can go all night, ‘cause we got a whole lot of fight in us, and I see a long road that we gotta follow before tomorrow catches up.” He sang as he held her in his arms. // @debbiewoll​

Debbie: Okay..

Debbie: I..I hold him not to..

Debbie: I don't want to see you say "your son" ever again.

Debbie: I really don't like that.

Debbie: Stop.

KJ: You're going to regret this when you calm down. I just hope for your sake, it's not to late. This is your problem, figure it out. I however, have a husband here who deserves my full attention. Goodnight.

KJ: No, but if he was, my ass would be on the first flight to him so I can prove to him what our marriage means to me. I'm in this through the good times AND the bad. You don't get to pick and choose. If you want this woman, GO.GET.HER.

KJ: Because if not, you need to let her go.
