You not have running water at home or something? Erik: *in a mocking tone* What, g-got n-nothing t-to s-say? Pauline Wan:  Frida… let’s just go get a teacher. Remember what happened last time— Frida Goth: Leave him alone, Erik. He didn’t do anything to you! Erik: I’ll leave him alone… if you give me a kiss. Madison VanWatson: *scoffs* Erik! I’m standing right here! Frida: You think you run this school, but I’m not afraid of you, asshole! *school bell rings* Frida: I’m sorry. I promise not everyone’s like that here. What’s your name? Connor: C-Connor. Connor F-Frio.

a lot of the premades are forgettable and it would be boring if all the prequel stories were based on the in-game ages

I often would, its likely for me, also a lot of those things become drama filled noir with cheating and deaths which is not a thing i commonly do or would think about, because i would play the game wishacy instead of , writing a story and then shooting it with the premades

I think you’re turning Johnny into the Landgraab Who Frida was supposed to marry, some say it wouldve been Chestee or Malcolm II.

Some of my thoughts on the ages thing: I personally don’t think it’s that farfetched for them all to be in high school together! In fact, I was quite intentional about it. I’ve done a lot of timeline and lore research before writing the story and I try to keep people’s ages as similar as possible to that along with their in-game ages across the various games of the franchise, with some artistic license of course.

Frida is Gunther’s younger sister, and since Gunther is an adult in Sunset Valley timeline, it makes sense for her to be a young adult (she maybe should have been slightly older lorewise, but I wanted to start her at age 23 with Gunther being 30).

And since both Jared and Connor are also young adults at the start of a Sunet Valley game, it’s definitely plausible for them all to have been in high school together (though by the time this scene happens, Jared is 18 and out of high school, while Connor is a freshman—I made them about 4 years apart for the story.)

Also, Erik Darling’s ghost is a young adult, and since his death was recent at the start of a Sunset Valley game, that means he could easily be a similar age to the other characters in the scene.

I chose everyone else in the scene carefully based on their ages as well: Madison VanWatson, Marty Keaton, Tori Kimura, etc. They may not age up at exactly the same times in the game, but I decided they were all similar enough that they could easily overlap in high school.

For my Flavors of Midnight lore, I also planned out which people grew up in Sunset Valley and which ones did not, taking into account all their bios and such.

Johnny Landraab is the one whose age I had to fudge a little bit for the story; in Flavors of Midnight, his parents would have been quite young when he was born for it to work with the timeline, but I mapped it all out at one point when I was planning the story. Also, I chose to make his younger brother Malcolm a little bit older than he is when the game starts, just so their age gap as brothers isn’t quite so drastic. 😊 I have a whole timeline written out somewhere to keep track of people’s ages for the story, though I’m not sure exactly what happened to it…
