How unfortunate the innocent could fall into those traps, a cruelty of life that repeated more often than not. So, could someone really blame him for wanting to believe @deathbycassette? To believe that the blood all over her was truly an incident of “wrong place, wrong time”? Would that make him an idiot or naive? Probably.
STILL, THE SCENT WAFTED OFF OF HER, AND NESTLED INTO his nostrils. Animalistic behavior took hold, and he could feel his mouth begin to water with the pit of his stomach churning. It took all he had to keep his eyes from bleeding black, “ Yeah… ” he cleared his throat, “ What happened? You’re not hurt… are you? ” Such a bleeding heart for a monster.

"Me, hurt? Nah." She moved a step, planting herself in front of the very obvious dead body crumpled on the ground behind her. "Just uh—" Crystal paused, not sure how to describe the situation. At least it was dark, so hopefully there wasn't much to see.
"A prank?" It came out like a question, as if even she knew how stupid that sounded. "Y'know, like Carrie? Pigs blood."
Tugging at her shirt, her mouth formed a small frown as she noted just how sticky she was. "Gonna be a bitch to clean though. Man, I liked this shirt."
Her eyes turned back towards him, raising her eyebrows. "No chance you've got a spare shirt hiding somewhere, do you?"

"Always such a flatterer." Crystal rolled her eyes, though she wouldn't deny she always loved a compliment. Made her undead heart flutter without fail, every time.
She moved in closer towards David, reaching out and plucking the cigarette right out of his fingers, bringing it towards her mouth and taking a long drag before passing it back to him with a cheeky grin.
Looking around at the space, she could see it. A place for vamps to come, hang out and even stay — for a night, or longer. "I like it. Better than the dank basement I've been living in. At least you've got some light, decoration. A couch."
"I might have to infringe on your hospitality more often, especially if you keep lettin' me use your couch. Though it could use some pillows. Or at least somethin' a little cushier."
Moving again, she got a little closer to the door, listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. "Feels safe. And I don't say that lightly. I barely feel safe at home, much less somewhere else. So take the thank you — I don't give them out much."
