my favorite games on kpop shows like going seventeen are ones where they have to hide and they either make their cameraman hide with them or give them the camera. It always cracks me up lol
I'm sad at how many people didn't like Supergirl when I thought it was awesome. RIP
I think that if I unsubscribe I should stop getting the emails

Here is my hot take right now, I really like Le Sserafim's new album except for all the tracks where it's just talking and the title tracks. Like, Celebrate is ok, but I really don't like Boompala, which was really disappointing.
HOWEVER Sonder is a freaking banger. Sonder means the realization that everybodies life is as deep and profound as your own and making a song about that is wonderful.
I love Trust Exercise. That speaks to me as an avoidant attatchment, about how it's hard to take down walls and get close, but I want to.
Iffy Iffy was awesome. I love how it's like I'm broken, but I'm moving forward anyways. That's one of my favorite messages in music. Life is hard, but I will fight harder. We all need to hear that.
Need Your Company. Loved the lyrics. It's a song of vulnerability in friendship, of saying I don't know what's real and I'm not perfect, but I need you.
I also loved Irony. It's so interesting because it's about obsession, but not in a romantic way, but a career and controlling your life type of way. "The more I try to grasp it/ the more it leaves my hands/ strangely my heart becomes lighter/ isn't it strange, feels like irony."
Creatures was fun and I do like Celebrate and the music video. It's fun, I just don't like how the neck dance hurt Chaewon, which is my main issue. And honestly, most of Boompala, I do like, but the macarena part super annoys me. But most of the album is freaking poetry dude, and it's buried underneath the freaking macarena (which I love, just not here).
can i just say that I love the subtitle teams for Viki because what do you mean a group named 'wifey done my hair' translated my cdrama? They are absolute icons
I hate that the top kpop stuff on tumblr is smutty fanfiction because 1) it weirds me out that people are writing fanfiction period, let alone sexual fanfiction about real human people, especially when some are MINORS, and 2) I want to see people's playlists, gifs, memes, and lyric analysis. I see a lot of that stuff for T Swift on here, and I wish I could find the same for the other bands that I like.
I'm going to create a more tangible scale for expressing how into a fandom I am because at the end of the summer I am going to re-rate how into all these different k-pop bands I'm into. I think I'll still do a 10 point scale but there are 10 ways to earn a point.
I know every members names and can identify them.
I've watched interview content on YouTube
I watch variety show content of them regularly
I know at least 5 songs (they have an artist playlist I've made on spotify)
The songs show up on multiple playlists (beyond my master kpop playlist and my master gg or bg playlists)
I've bought merch
There's a video of them that I've watched at least 5 times
I've listened through their total discography
They naturally show up on my algorithms
consistancy (they weren't just a phase)
My thoughts on Home by BOYNEXTDOOR
What is tumblr for if not to share my thoughts because no one else I know is in my fandom, lol.
Here are my thoughts on all the songs from Home, by BOYNEXTDOOR
06070 - The lyrics are amazing. (I always look up the english translations of songs, lol). It starts with Jaehyun talking about how when he was twenty, he was struggling to get by and living with regret, so he is pushing himself to achieve his dreams. It ends with Woonhak when he is twenty performing for so many people. also this chunk in the middle is PURE POETRY - "flashiness becomes a debt/borrowed for a moment/ the interest is inferiority complex"
Viral - this song has been living in my head rent free, which was their goal, lol. I love the dance, especially the part with the kick. FABULOUS. the 'te quiero, señorita" is on repeat in my head and I saw them talk about how this song is about lack. The need of something. GENIUS. I also love the line "I'm on my money/ but I'm on my lonely"
ddok ddok ddok - I think I have this song almost memorized by now. I love the music video and the rhythm and how they list all their album names. I also love when they unironically use the word rizz. Also Leehan's voice is like crack. The pre-chorus is my favorite part.
Adios! - this song is so fun! It's so poppy and bouncy and then you read the lyrics and YOU NEED TO READ THE LYRICS. "There is no such thing as a day without regret/ and that's why we keep living" ; "Youth passes/ pain passes too/ what's left behind is a lingering sense of regret/ even that passes too/ in the end/ everything moves on/ too painful to stay as it is/ oh, aching youth" How do you make a song about REGRET fun? But they did.
Upside Down - the way they sing the words upside down is SO SATISFYING. It is also SO FUN! It's about how we need to turn the boring petty stuff in life upside down and have fun!
DIVE - classic love song type lyrics and it's perfect for Riwoo. I love all the water imagery with the drowning and CPR. This one is honestly the least memorable for me, but still super enjoyable!
Forever You - reading the lyrics made me cry. They wrote it for their parents. One thing that I love about it is because it is for their parents, they wrote it all in Korean except for one and a half lines. Here is some of the stuff that GOT ME. "Even on the days I hate myself/ you love me" SHUT UP AAAAH. "As many moments pass by/ a child becomes an adult/ and even when an adult becomes a child again/ please remember me" Having the chorus be even when you are old and get dementia to remember me is diabolical and so freaking emotional. "Mom, I had a dream/ that you're leaving me/ Dad, everyone dies, I know/ that you're leaving" again a diabolical way to open a song. Woonhak's bridge about his grandpa was the one that hit the closest to home for me. "How are you grandpa?/ Are you doing well these days?/ How am I doing,/ the one you're watching from over there?/ I've made up my mind/ to surely return the love I've recieved/ To Mom, Dad, my younger sibling, and also to Grandma/ I should have taken some family photos/ When I get tired/ I still miss that hearty laughter/ Whenever I remember you/ I become a little kid again." My grandpa is also dead and this explains some of my feelings so well. I love how genuine everyone in this song is, because they all helped write it.
I Wonder - I love the play on words because the fandom is OneDoor and I am a huge fan of puns, lol. I've probably listened to this one the least, tbh. I don't have super strong feelings on it.

K-Pop songs that just make perfect pairs
Hypeboy by New Jeans and Hypeman by Nexz - they're both cute and Hypeboy says 'you're my hypeboy' and Hypeman says 'I'm your hypeman'. It's like they're responding to each other and are so sunshine coded
Knock Knock by Twice, Kickflip & Ampers&one - All three 'knock knock's are cute love songs about knocking on someone's heart and cute beginnings of love
Late Night Calls by P1Harmony, Off the Record by Ive, and Calling you back by Ampers&one - all cute love songs about calling someone. It's simple, but I love listening to them together
Left & Right by Seventeen and Left and Right by Charlie Puth and Jungkook - I like how they're opposite vibes with the same phrase. Seventeen's is a motivation hype song and Puth and Jungkook's is a post - breakup song.
Hot by Le Sserafim and Hot by Seventeen - Le Sserafims is definitely more emotional, but they're both about living life confidently. I like how they were more about confidence because when I hear of a song called hot I assume it's going to be a love song type, but both subverted that expection.
OMG by New Jeans and OMG! by alphadriveone - literally just the title and they both say OMG a lot, lol
Deja Vu by TXT and Deja Vu by Ateez - I like how they both have an angsty sound to them and again they both use deja vu, so they go well together
Gonna be a rock by boynextdoor and Tinnitus (wanna be a rock) by TXT - it is so funny to me how similar these titles are when they are about completely different things
Bad Desire (With or Without You) by Enhypen and the Enhypen cover of Demons (originally by Imagine Dragons) - super angsty yearning songs about how the other person would be better without them, but they also love them
Lo$er=Lover by TXT and Viral by Boynextdoor - they are about losing someone you love because of chasing money. Viral's line "I'm on my money, but I'm on my lonely" sums it up pretty well.
Some of these are lazy, they have the same titles, but some of these pairings I am quite proud of, lol. But I like listening to all of these back to back and I would highly recomend, lol
Taylor Swift, I Knew It, I Knew You
Imagine Grace defined his name as the elegance definition of grace and Rocky spends years thinking how fucking ironic this clumsy leaky space blobs name is.
Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.
And Rocky has to suddenly reconcile that the clumsy leaky blob that saved his life twice, that almost certainly doomed himself to come back for him, name is Mercy.
Since I treat this like my fandom diary here is my latest train of thought on my new obession: k-pop
Younger idols who look like another idol. I'm not saying they are exactly twins but they look similar and give off the same vibe. Also not in any specific order.
Juwang (kickflip) and Bae (nmixx). I legitimately thought they were brother and sister. I googled to see and was disappointed that they were not.
Kyehoon (kickflip) and Changbin (stray kids). They both give born to be in a girl group, forced to be a gym bro rapper. Also literally look at Kyehoon in the new Ceremony cover.
Yu (Nexz) and Bangchan (Stray Kids). It's probably both they have similar noses and also parental vibes towards the rest of their group.
Hyui (Nexz) and Han (Stray Kids). rappers with very cutie pie personalities. Like they will give a hardcore rap verse and then go giggle somewhere and I love it. Also the video where hyui gets to meet han is wonderful. 10/10 would reccomend.
Yuki (Nexz) and Heesung (Enhypen). Maybe it's just Yuki with the orange hair, but I see it.
Obviously none of these people are clones of each other. It's just when I look at them I go ah, they're just like so and so.
UPDATE: I found three more
Sunoo (enhypen) and Seungkwan (SEVENTEEN). they have similar faces and diva energy
The8 (SEVENTEEN) and Jeongsub (P1Harmony). it might just be the way they do their hair, but also the quiet medium unhinged energy
Woozi (SEVENTEEN) and Suga (BTS): the have the same face shape and introvert quiet please leave me alone energy.
Taesan (BOYNEXTDOOR) and Lee Know (Stray Kids). I don't have the words to explain it, just trust
I guess you can tell what I've been watching lately, lol
sometimes a Twice song is the only that keeps me from smashing printers to bits

I knew I was watching the right cdrama when she started making a conspiracy board on the second episode
Ok so I'm 19 episodes in and i KNOW i'm in the right cdrama because they just got married and right away on the wedding night she showed him her conspiracy board.
I want to be just like Shogu, that girl is an icon
What I love about Blossom is that we see the humanity in the villain. (Keep in mind, I'm only on episode 16). But the stepmom does awful things and I hate her. In no way are they excusable. However, we see how they result from hardships she went through and how she genuinely loves Ming'r. IDK, I still hate her, but I appreciate a complex character, especially a female one.
