âPlease, Dean.â dean x reader
(in which Dean tries to makes the reader a promise and he just canât go through with it.)
Lately, you and the Winchester brothers have been going through a lot. Your family was murdered years ago, and the demon that killed them has been hunting you ever since. Luckily, Bobby saved you and sent you with Dean and Sam to stay away from it as long as possible.
That was three years ago, but the demon is getting close. Since starting your relationship with Dean a year ago, heâs been getting more and more protective. Swearing to you nothing was gonna happen and that he was gonna be there.
It was late at night, and the three of you just got back to the bunker from a hunt in Louisiana. You and Dean were banged up a little bit, and Sam just had a few cuts and bruises. Maybe even a small concussion.
After the two of you showered after bidding a good night to Sam, you crawled into bed. Dean was slipping on some sleep pants and got in bed next to you, not bothering with a shirt.
You hadnât talked to Dean about the stuff you had heard about the demon. He didnât know the demon was in Kansas, getting closer to you by the minute. You didnât know how to tell him, but it was now or never.
âDean?â You quietly spoke as he was rubbing his calloused hands across his face.
âYeah baby? Whatâs going on?â He spoke back, looking at you.
Tears threatened to leave your eyes, and he quickly noticed, âY/N, whatâs wrong?â
âDean, I have been keeping something from you, and when I tell you and ask you this next question I want you to promise me youâll go through with it.â
Dean was confused, but nodded.
You took a deep breath, and spoke, âHeâs here. Heâs in Kansas, and he knows where I am. He knows I am with you and Sam-â
âY/N why didnât you freaking te-â
âDean, please just give me a second to finish,â you interrupted, and he nodded with annoyance.
âHe knows I am with the two of the best hunters out there. Heâs gonna kill you both, Dean. So when he comes to get me, because I know he will, I need you to kill me.â
Deans eyes widened and he got out of the bed, âKill you? Kill you? Are you fucking serious? Y/N what went through your mind that even gave you the slightest idea that I would promise that to you? I love you, and Iâm not gonna kill you.â
âDean, I get that youâre mad-â
âMad? You think Iâm mad? Iâm pissed. How could you even think that I would do that? And how could you not tell me that you know heâs here? Were you even gonna tell me?â
He was fuming, you could tell. âYes, Dean. I was gonna tell you.â
âWhen, Y/N? When were you gonna tell me? When I was asleep in bed next to you? Or when Iâm driving down the road with you by my side and Sam in the back? Or maybe when he had gotten to you, and you left me no choice even though I would find a way out of it? Iâm not killing you, and I know damn well Sam wonât either.â
He walked out of the room and went to the kitchen for a beer, or you assumed that was where he was going. You walked outside through the garage for some air, and you saw him. He was here. You grabbed a gun from a drawer in the tool box and acted like you didnât see him. Sam, though, had no idea what was going on and saw you grab a gun, and put in the bullets you used against demons.
âY/N, whatâs going on?â He asked quietly as he saw what you were doing.
âSam, Iâll explain later but get inside. Stay safe. Dean knows whatâs going on. Tell him heâs here-â
âThe demons here? The one after you?â Sam rushed.
You slowly nodded, and Sam rushed inside and was probably getting Dean. When Sam was gone, though, he grabbed you. You screamed for Dean, and it wasnât much longer that he was outside and saw what had happened.
He was holding up a gun, and tears streamed down your face. It was happening. Dean was holding the gun at the demons holding you to its chest with a knife to your neck.
âDean,â you cried which grabbed his attention, âbaby-â
âStop, just stop. I donât want to do this,â Dean spoke, eyes never leaving the demon.
âDean, look at me,â you sniffled.
His gun never left the demon, but his eyes moved to yours. You could see the sudden mood change in his eyes and his face.
âPlease, Dean,â you softly spoke, tears going down your face.
He was holding back tears himself, but he slowly moved the gun to you.
âWell, look what we have here. Dean saving his precious girl. Isnât that sweet,â the demon spoke, his grip getting tighter.
âYou better shut your damn mouth you son of a bitch,â Dean angrily spoke.
âDo it Dean. Kill her. Make my job easier,â the demon taunted.
Dean shook his head, mumbling, âIâm sorry. It wonât hurt for long, baby.â
His gun moved to your thigh, and he shot the gun. You doubled over in pain, and you saw a glow from behind you. Sam had stabbed the demon, but not before you felt blood coming from your stomach. The demon had stabbed you, as well.
You dropped to the gravel and Sam tossed the demons body aside. Dean was by you in seconds. Sam was getting the impala ready to go to the hospital. You definitely needed surgery.
âBaby, Iâm here. Stay awake, okay? Iâm so sorry, Y/N, please stay awake for me,â Dean cried as he shook you.
âDean, stop. Iâm okay,â you slowly spoke, eyes slowly opening.
âBaby, Iâm sorry. Iâm sorry he did this to you,â Dean shakily spoke as tears threatened to leave his eyes. You reached your hand up and rested it on his right cheek, and he relaxed into it.
âI love you too. Letâs get you to the hospital,â he sniffed, getting you up and carrying you to the car.
Dean and Sam sat for hours as they waited to hear something. Anything, really. A nurse walked in the room, and called for your name.
âWeâre here for her. Iâm her husband,â Dean rushed, claiming you as his wife due to using his last name on the papers.
âY/N is doing great. Her surgery went well and sheâs in a room. Sheâs asking for the two of you. Follow me,â the nurse softly spoke as she turned down a hallway with two men following her.
Once they reached your room, Dean was immediately at your bedside. âHey, how you feeling?â
He brushed hair away from your face as you softly smiled, âIâm fine, Dean. Thank you.â
âYou know I absolutely hated that. I didnât like it,â Dean spoke, griping onto your hand.
âI know, I know. Iâm sorry,â you mumbled.
You turned to Sam, âthank you. I appreciate what you did.â
âDonât worry about it. Family is family, and you needed the help,â sam smiled, giving you and Dean some space.
You turned and looked at Dean and he was crying, his head resting on the side of your stomach. You put your hand on the back of his head, playing with the ends of his hair.
âBaby, itâs okay, Iâm okay,â you assured him.
âHe almost got you. I was so scared. And then you wanted me to kill you. I wasnât even mad, I was just scared and heartbroken that I might have actually had to do it. Please donât make me do it again,â he cried, which broke your heart.
âOkay, okay. I promise, Dean. Itâs alright, Iâm okay,â you spoke as he got in the bed with you. You held him, and his head rested in the crook of your neck.
Thatâs how the two of you fell asleep, together in a small, dingy hospital bed. But thatâs okay, because you were well and thatâs all that mattered.
