“Explains everything about you.” It was a light-hearted jab and Matteo took it as such, flicking David’s cheek as a comeback and loudly scoffing. David just laughed and picked up the cup once again, taking another sip. 

“Everything wrong?” 

“No.” It was more serious than the conversation permitted but David could never pretend to find something wrong with Matteo. There was something so beautiful about the way his boyfriend was so perfectly human. How everything in life crafted and bruised the bright-eyed boy until he was exhausted but he still chose to step through every day, holding a heart filled with love. Matteo was the only proof that David needed that love was real and true and persevered through it all. “Just everything.”
