Victor âEgoâ Hugo actively refused to go to the Polytechnic school because he didnât want to do A Math; his father tried to force him, financially, and he willfully bombed outÂ
but by all records he totally could  do mathÂ
he just really, really, really didnât want to, ever
Furthermore, his dad actively didnât want him to be a writer and cut him off financially unless he would agree to follow a more Mathtastic career; this is certainly a part of why Hugo worked so intensely on his writing career as a very young man
Les Mis is not only full of terrible math; it is in many ways the result of and monument to one manâs absolute devotion to Not Doing Math
Isnât there a line about grantaire hating math
Look oh my god this is it
This is unbelievably cruel and unjust.

i feel like people are missing the point of this whole notre dame debate: no one is saying that we shouldnât try to fix the church or that itâs not worth fixing.Â
itâs just funny that there is such near-universal outrage over its destruction when churches in black neighborhoods are burned down by white supremacists in the US and that gets no coverage. centuries old churches in puerto rico were battered by the hurricane and the white house didnât rush to help restore those.Â
itâs also funny that millionaires can pull together hundreds of millions of dollars in a couple of days to renovate a building meanwhile millions of people worldwide are sick, starving, and dying.Â
itâs worth paying attention to the selective empathy that the rich and privileged hold and whose suffering successfully prompts them to part with their wealth. because it certainly isnât the suffering of people of color and i feel like that should at least be something we take note of amidst all this.Â
âbut this one was in a disney movie and ive heard of it beforeâ

even my homophobic dad made a good point about homophobic people. he said that when you mention a gay couple to homophobes they always get disgusted and the first image that pops in their head is fucking in the ass, lesbian porn etc, etc and when you mention straight couples to them they think about two people holding hands and romantic shit like that. i hate this so much because homophobes consider gay people to be something disgusting and impure which is infuriating because they consider gay people to be these objects that only think about dick or pussy and that being gay is the only thing that ecompasses a gay person, like we donât have personality or something
This reminds me of when I was younger and told my mom about a story I was writing. The main male character has a male love interest. As I was talking, she cut me off and said âOh, great. So the whole storyâs about sex.â
I couldnât even understand what she was talking about. I just kinda gave her an attitude back with âactuallyâno itâs not.â And she was really sarcastic about it and said, âActually, yeah it is.â
I didnât realize until just now that her entire perspective of what being gay is, is this gross sexualization of everything.
thank you for adding this comment because i fucking hate the gross sexualiation

y'all im really mad about georgia passing the heartbeat bill
i donât even live in georgia and it makes me want to burst into tears
yâalâŚthe new abortion law in GeorgiaâŚthat outlaws any abortions past 6 weeksâŚ.women might not even REALIZE they are pregnant to MAKE a decision at that pointâŚ.the Alabama proposed lawâŚcriminalizing ALL abortions (they voted AGAINST rape and incest exceptionsâŚ), trying to explicitly get a suit before the new Supreme Court to overturn RoeâŚ..Iâm justâŚ. so angryâŚ.the âpro-lifeâ advocates fear-monger + talk of supposed 8-month abortions (fact check: those do NOT happen unless there is a SERIOUS medical issue threatening the life of the mother or the fetus) or as if women just choose to get abortions callouslyâŚ.when in reality, abortions are extremely personal, private decisions between a woman + her doctor, based on a variety of medical concerns, circumstances of conception + deeply personal viewpointsâŚ.we are going backwards in time to the era of dangerous coat-hanger abortions and IâmâŚjust so angry that these MEN who do not have to CARRY a full term pregnancy with all of its physical, emotional, financial and social implications are making these decisions for womenâŚ!! Â

Georgiaâs new âheartbeatâ law makes abortion illegal after around 6 weeks. It gives the fetus personhood status, meaning any women who has an abortion in the state via a healthcare provider can be charged with murder, facing a life sentence or the death penalty. Any women who has has a self-caused miscarriage can be charged with second degree murder (10-13 years). Any women who has a miscarriage can be subject to interrogation to determine if they can be held responsible for murder. Any women who tries to leave the state for a legal abortion can be charged with conspiracy to murder. Anyone who tries to assist a women in leaving the state can be charged with conspiracy.
This isnât pro-life. This is anti women.
But the most insidious part of all is that this bill is specifically extreme to provoke legal challenges to bring it to the Supreme Court in order to overturn entirely or chip away at Roe V. Wade, and in the meantime, the women of Georgia will pay the price.
