As a naturally introverted person, I rarely have the words to express how I FEEL which is why I chose dance as my preferred language. The gravity of recent events has shown me at a certain point you need to speak clearly about how you FEEL. I am disgusted, hurt, furious and exhausted. I am also wide awake, grounded, proud and empowered. These FEELings are not mutually exclusive. As painful as this FEELs, I know that this is the same energy that this nation was founded upon. The backs & bodies of my black & brown ancestors made America what it is today. So there’s no surprise that this malice has manifest in the hearts of many who claim to be righteous. Their eyes are closed tight. They don’t want to see the obvious truth. I have never been more proud to be BLACK and I am blessed to be here at the tipping point. It was a nice try but this cannot and will not continue. A new era is on the horizon, get with it or get lost.
