final hours
deadbydevi:
“I can’t pretend to know what that thing’s ever thinking.” She grunts out as she hobbles her way from the kitchen to the living room. She turns carefully, then sets a hand over her bad shoulder to brace it, before plopping onto the couch.
“I mean, why doesn’t it fix you up?” The question is to prompt him; they both can guess why.
Nny follows along, also taking a seat. “Oh, y’know, probably one part spite at me refusing to cooperate, one part ‘motivation’. And I’d assume it’s the same for some of the other Killers, honestly. Or maybe it benefits more from whatever reactions people have to ones that look fucked up, as opposed to just some guy.”
He leans back, looking up at the ceiling. “It’s like, either you get a mask that could unsettle people, or you get horribly deformed and damaged, or you’re in a weird overlap of those. …Shit, now I want a mask.”
Devi closes her eyes and nods as he talks.
“That is true I suppose. And all this time I was thinking it was just to be mean to you.” She settles tentatively against the back cushion. “I know it doesn’t like me, that’s for sure, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it hindered my ability to fight back somehow. Crappy spider monster...”
deadbydevi:
Devi snorts at his reply; so helpful.
“Well, I’m not particularly worried about you these days, so my gauge is off.” She offers him another, more-tired smile, and moves to rub her bandaged shoulder.
“Mind if I wait for my next trial here? I don’t think I’ll be doing any more snooping until I’m ‘reset’—IF it decides to reset this gash afterwards, of course.”
“You know what I mean!” Nny retorts, before adding on “And yeah, it’s fine.”
He frowns. “It’d be weird if the Entity didn’t do something about that. Considering its whole deal, it’d probably want Survivors to be all healed up for the trials.”

deadbydevi:
She remains wary after his explaination, but nods along all the same. ‘Brutal’, huh?
“Shit.” She grunts, then turns to look at him again. “Anyone I should be worried about?”
There’s a modest smirk coupled with the question — she’s already regathering a bit of her confidence, in spite of the newly-patched wound on her back.
He sighs and shrugs. “I mean, I guess as much as you should worry about any other killer? I don’t know.”

deadbydevi:
Devi’s expression slackens in surprise, and she shifts to look at him over her shoulder.
“Another Killer…?” She asks faintly, before her mouth catches up with her mind. “You died?”
“Yeah. That’s, what, my second time? Probably a worse experience that time, too. I’ll spare you the details, it was… Well, kind of brutal, I guess.” He almost sounds nonchalant as he explains, but there’s a definite undercurrent of bitterness.

deadbydevi:
A sharp tsss escapes her mouth as a breath sucks past her teeth, which only annoys her further. Stupid Trapper, stupid dimension.
“Watch it.” She tries to snap, but all her venom’s dwindled away by now, and the comment comes out more tired than anything. Devi groans, irritated by that too.
“I’m lucky he didn’t get a better swing in…” She mumbles. “Not too keen on finding out what happens if you die outside a Trial firsthand.”
“Sorry, sorry,” he mumbles in response, trying to keep steady as he adds, “Probably for the best for that to remain a mystery.”
There’s a long pause, his hands stilling. “…Actually, I might have an answer. Got in a fight with another Killer not too long ago. Long story short, I got killed. Woke up back here at some point, no idea how long I was “out,” so to speak. I’m not sure how different the outcome would’ve been if I was a Survivor, though.”

"Hm... hey, Nny, you wouldn't happen to be wearing anything green today, would you?" (@deadbydevi)
@deadbydevi
“No, why do you ask? ‘s not really my kinda thing– Wait a second.”
“Heh-heh!”
[PINCHES HIS STUPID ARM]
deadbydevi:
Devi raises her tired eyes up to him, then nods disjointedly.
“No Bactine necessary, I think. I just want my skin to feel less grimy - there’s next-to-nothing I can do about the pain until the next Trial resets this.”
She stands upright again and shakes the water off her arm, then turns to display the rather grotesque slash wound across her shoulder blade. Her left hand pulls the already short sleeve of her cut-off shirt even closer to her collar, to offer Johnny more access.
“Fair enough,” he responds, wincing at the sight of the wound (as if he himself has not seen his fair share of those). And, well, he begins bandaging it up.
His hands are admittedly shaky, as is his breathing. Frankly, it’s a little bit of anger directed at the Trapper, and a little bit of fear. She got hurt outside of a trial. It’s… A lot of emotional turmoil to handle, by his standards.

deadbydevi:
She trails after him into the house, but instead of of joining him in the bathroom, she opts for the much large kitchen sink to rinse her arm off in. Devi sticks her shoulder right under the faucet, and leans against the cabinet in an attempt to stay upright as her adrenaline starts to wear off.
Soon enough, he’s out, medkit clutched in his hands. “I’m not even going to pretend I’d know what I’m doing with this. My method’s always tended to be “If I’m not bleeding all over the place, it’s fine,” which I guess it is? …But then again, there is that time i just dumped some Bactine on my head after my face got scratched up by someone.”

deadbydevi:
Devi hrks at the sudden jolt that brings her into standing. His Killer strength will always take her by surprise, evidently.
After a quick look over her person, and finding nothing amiss besides her very bloody right arm, she nods with another slow exhale.
“Alright.” She turns to head to the house, then remembers her manners. “—Thanks, Johnny.”
“No problem, ‘s not like I could just leave you out here,” he replies as he walks back inside. Considering the circumstances, he doesn’t go for the couch as usual, instead opting for the bathroom.
One, to wash his hands, if the sound of running water is anything to go off of. Two, to get the medkit, which he retrieves from the sink cabinet.
