summary: Toby and Iris got married one week ago, and now Toby is acting fatherly to Iris' baby sister, Belle. Although he isn't doing a good job at it.
info: alternate au, married couple, wholesome, "parenting," kissing, slight dirty talk.
Iris was asleep in her and Toby's shared bed, but she was woken up to the sounds of soft whimpers, from her baby sister. So she got up to check on the baby, but Belle wasn't in her crib. And Toby was already out of bed.
"Toby?" Iris called out, her voice echoing through the hallways. As she continued her walk down the hallway, a very bad smell hit her nose. It got worse as she walked into the nursery.
Iris saw her baby sister in the arms of Toby, who was half naked and currently cradling Belle. Who was naked, she had a pink shirt on but no diaper.
"Why does she have no diaper on?" Iris asked, entering the room and approaching Toby, who was sitting on the comfy plush chair, a baby pink colour.
"She h-huh-had an accident, didn't wanna w-wake you.." Toby stuttered, rocking the baby girl in his arms.
"And now she's gonna go around mooning everyone?" Iris said, hands on her hips.
"I don't know how to put one on, it's harder then it looks." Toby said sheepishly.
"Give her here." Iris says, holding her arms out so the baby can be placed in them.
Toby handed Belle to iris, the baby looking up her sister with those big brown eyes and her chubby cheeks. Her tiny hands reached out for Iris, she was completely unaware of the fact both her tiny cheeks were out for Toby eyes. Iris placed Belle on the changing table and began putting a diaper and some new pyjamas on her tiny body. While she worked, Toby hugged iris from behind, and buried his face in her shoulder, planting gentle kisses on her neck.
"You could have woken me up, y'know." Iris said, her voice now softer.
"M'.. I know. You're just so grumpy in the mornings." Toby said, his voice muffled against Iris' neck.
"I'm not!" Iris said, her tone was playfully angry.
"You refuse to talk to anyone in the mornings, you constantly have a pout on your face and refuse any affection in the mornings." Toby began listing off iris' morning habits with a cheeky smirk on his face.
"Shall I go on?" Toby teased, followed by a chuckle.
"Just.. hate waking up early is all." Iris finished dressing belle, and let her down to go play before breakfast.
Iris turned to Toby, Toby's hands still on her waist.
"What do you want for breakfast?" Iris asked, toby got a smirk on his face.
"Can I have you for breakfast?" Toby asked, as he leaned his head down to kiss Iris' neck again.
"Haha, very funny. But not now, I have a baby sister to feed." Iris said, pulling away from Toby and going downstairs, grabbing belle from the floor before she could crawl downstairs.
Iris placed two pieces of bread into the toaster, and then got Belle some oatmeal, with banana slices on top and nutella drizzle.
"Can you put her in her highchair?" Iris asked, referring to Belle's highchair.
Toby walked up to Belle, picking the giggling baby up. Belle's teether dropped to the floor as her wide, curious eyes went to Toby. Then she used her tiny chubby hands to try and grab at his face. She seemed curious about the stubble on Toby's face. He put belle into the chair, and handed her the teether to keep her entertained.
Iris walked over, holding the pink hello kitty bowl full of Belle's food. She pulled up a chair for herself and attempted to feed Belle, but Toby grabbed her shoulder and cupped her face.
"You haven't given me a kiss this morning," Toby said as his thumb brushed against her pale cheek, that was going slightly pink.
"Fine.." Iris says reluctantly, already knowing Toby's breath probably stinks because he hasn't brushed his teeth yet. She couldn't really complain, her breath probably stunk aswell.
She lifted her head slightly, pressing her dirty pink lips against Toby's in a gentle, tender kiss. She could feel the cold metal on her cheek, from Toby's wedding ring brushing against her skin.
"Love ya," He said, before leaving into the kitchen.
"Love you too." Iris mumbled, going back to feeding Belle.
As Iris fed belle, who was making a mess of herself, a warm feeling began to pool at the bottom of Iris' stomach. The realisation of her situation hitting her now. She was an adult, married to the man she loved. She could go as 'Mrs. Rogers,' if she really wanted to.
When Iris was a teenager, she thought that she'd never end up married. She didn't even think that she'd make it to adulthood. She suddenly felt quite proud of herself, making it twenty six years though her life.
Iris heard the sounds of a knife scraping on bread, that snapped her back to reality. She turned her head and saw Toby standing behind the counter, spreading nutella on one of her pieces of bread that she made for herself.
"You know that toast was for me, right?" Iris said, looking at Toby but also continually darting her eyes back to Belle as she fed her.
"What's mine is yours, w-we're married now." Toby said, picking the toast up and bringing it to his mouth, taking a bite. He threw the dishes in the sink aswell.
"Guess that's true. You still could have made your own toast though." Iris said, focusing her attention back to Belle, who's face was now covered in oatmeal and mashed banana.
Toby placed a plate on the highchair table, it had a slice of toast with a generous amount of nutella spread over it. That was Iris' second slice of toast.
"Thank you love." Iris spoke, muttering the 'love,' nickname.
"Your welcome, my beautiful wife." Toby said, putting emphasis on the word wife.
"You've been calling me that since we were teenagers.." Iris said with a warm smile on her face that Toby couldn't see, because her back was turned to him.
"Well now it's official. Wifey." Toby teased, he knew Iris found it cringe when he called her that. Iris had vocally expressed it multiple times over the past week.
"Ugh, don't call me that." Iris tried acting annoyed, but she couldn't help but smile. Toby could tell she was smiling based on the tone of her voice.
"Okay then, how about 'butterfly?" Toby asked. He knew that Iris loved that nickname, he had been calling her that nickname since they both first met. Toby already knew she was blushing..

After a few hours, Belle was put down for her nap of the day, giving Toby and Iris some alone time together. They weren't really in the mood for anything else, so they settled on watching Iris' favourite disney movie, Tangled. The two of them held each other while watching the TV.
Iris fidgeted with her silver wedding ring that had tiny butterflies on it. Toby picked it out just for her, silver went best with her pale complexion, and the butterflies were because she had half her life around her love for butterflies and the symbolism they carried for her.
"You okay, butterfly?" Toby asked, his arm slung around Iris.
"I'm fine. Just admiring my ring." Iris said with a faint smile on her face.
"C-Can't believe you're my wife now, just like we talked about." Toby said with a grin on his face as he looked down at Iris, admiring her features.
"I can't believe I'm a married woman now, when I was a teenager I swore I'd never end up marrying anyone." Iris said, her head resting against Toby's shoulder.
"I love you, butterfly." Toby mumbled against Iris' skin as he planted a tender kiss against her forhead.
"I love you too." Iris said, with a tender and soft smile on her face.
