My linocut prints done for the @dead3zine !! I've been on a traditional art kick lately and it was a lot of fun getting to make something physical for this project! Also working with sharp tools only seemed appropriate for these two >;)

"Only Bhaal"

I really wanted to do a piece with Orin because I don't draw her a lot. But I also wanted to work with the idea that if she sees you, so does Bhaal. But also I wanted to try and pull focus from her to Bhaal, visually. Which is why she's front and center as the subject but in shadow, so your eye hopefully moves away from her and onto the statues of Bhaal. Idk something something- "there is no Orin, only Bhaal."

A story of Orin the Red, her sister Elegy, and the tragedy that befalls all children of Bhaal. (Rating: Mature. Word count: 3k)

“You have followed me almost since I arrived,” she said. It was not a question. “You are not quiet enough to be my shadow and too unkempt to be subtle. Were we in the city above, the Watch or the Fist would cart you away, assuming you were just another impoverished orphan.” She paused, considering. “Which, I suppose, is not entirely inaccurate.” Orin bristled, pulling her arm out of the butler’s bony grasp. “They would not. I can be anyone, anything I want.” The older girl raised her eyebrows. “Show me, then.”
