Some people I've seen think Jay is half-genie since they never mentioned un-genie-fying Jafar.

Only once in the books did they mention that Evie was a witch 'cause her mom is and I think in specific fanfiction.

So the Isle of the Lost gets everything from Auradon right? And all of it is leftovers. Worn down and second hand at best. So their clothing would all be last season at the newest... And all of them wear leather primarily... Like- almost exclusively leather...

as someone studying history at University, I think the VKs might go to an older style of keeping clean

first of all, they wouldn't have modern showers or hot-running taps/faucets

so for washing, they'd probably use either a basic tub (less often because they're a pain to fill) or a wash-basin (basically a bowl with hot water and a cloth, used to scrub the body down. used more often because more convenient). Evidence for the basic tub is that there's one shown during the Rotten to the Core sequence in the first movie

hot water for the tub and the wash basin would probably be heated on the stove

but then we move onto clothes themselves. because even though they're all covered in leather, they're wearing what looks like cotton or otherwise cheaper and easier to clean fabrics underneath. before polyester, most underclothes were made out of basic linen, which soaked up body oils and kept the body and the outer garments clean. these were usually called a chemise or an undershirt and no one went without one. some professional historians have found that it's more hygienic to wear a new chemise everyday but not wash than wear the same chemise but wash every day. fabrics like linen are better than polyester because linen is naturally absorbent whereas polyester, being literally plastic clothes, isn't absorbent.

side note; the chemise would go under the corset, in order to protect the skin from the corset and to protect the corset from the skin's oils, because a corset would be a pain in the ass to clean

the villains who are aware of this are more likely to be the ones from pre-twentieth century time periods such as Maleficent, and maybe the ones knowledgable in fashion and textiles like Cruella De Vil. on the washing front, the older methods were commonly used in the UK up until the mid-1960s, so any villains whose stories are set before then would be used to these methods

Sure, he had quite a few dalliances before he married Persephone. But once they were married, he was always faithful to her, unlike some other relatives of his I could name.

Which is why him being Mal's father is surprising, because it means he, after thousands of years, was unfaithful to his wife and had a child with another woman.

We only see Maleficent above ground in the original Sleeping Beauty and in Disney Descendants during summer months

spin-offs, live action remakes and other appearances are made clear to not be cannon

The school has an ice cream sundae bar the last Friday of every month.  

Mal is a mint chip ice cream lover (this is very important to me personally, mint chip ice cream is delicious and doesn’t deserve any of the hate it gets, much like Mal herself…)

The school does Sunday brunch. As someone who went to a relatively fancy college that also did weekend brunch meals, this is somewhat confusing and distressing the first weekend when you go down at your expected breakfast hour and find NO food out yet. 

Bunch doesn’t start until noon….the VKs definitely learned this the hard way.

Auradon Prep has pasta mondays…..every week? Once a month? No clear timeline on this one, but after working in a bunch of  different real-life dining hall kitchens, I know that it’s nice to have a set meal rotation, so pasta every Monday probably makes sense for a high school. 

Another important note here is that pasta night is ~fancy~ and they put out white tablecloths and dim the lights. Weird choice for a high school dining hall, but I guess when your student body is unimaginably rich and also likely confined to campus during the school term, you’ve got to make your own date opportunities. 

Side note: is there an Auradon Prep hierarchy of “good” date nights? Is being asked out to Monday pasta night like a basic, everyday-tier date? The enchanted lake is clearly where students go to have a romantic picnic and then hook up, but what other common school dates are there? Is brunch appropriately romantic? Does the dining hall let anyone request a picnic, or is that reserved for actual royalty? Many questions here. 

The funniest thing so far in the dining hall section of this book is the sample menu they have- WHO is feeding high school students escargot? Mussels? I guess they’re coastal enough to have fresh mussels on a somewhat regular basis because we do see them on a boat in D2…and like, they’re in relatively close proximity to the isle, which is In The Ocean, so I guess that part makes sense. But printed menus every night?? 

In my heart the printed menus are a sort of once-a-week special occasion thing. Maybe once a week they have fancy dinners where they’re all expected to eat nicely with the teachers, or with whatever visiting royal family is there to see their kids, or just to practice proper formal dinner etiquette. 

1. Count Dracula is Bisexual. Evidence: YD is oddly one of the most accurate representations of the character Count Dracula, in regards to the original book. Bram Stoker had based the character on Oscar Wilde. Ergo, Count Dracula is bisexual. 

2. The book by Bram Stoker exists in-universe. Evidence: The Draculas had to pretend that their last name was Count. This implies that Dracula is recognizable amongst humans as a vampire name, not just the title it was in Romanian history. Robin worked out that they’re vampires, simply because Vlad had his name sewn into his cloak.

3. The events of the book actually happened. Evidence: One of Van Helsing’s ancestors is called Abraham, as in the same Van Helsing from the book. In addition, Magda had said that the Count “always had a perverted thing for breathers”. Considering that they’re both several hundred years old, Sally couldn’t have been the only breather she was referring to, and likely was referring to Jonathan Harker. I don’t know why the Count didn’t recognize Van Helsing during season one, but Van Helsing kept referring to the Count as Dracula even though as far as the school was concerned he was simply Mr Count. 

4. Most of the High Council members were born during Ancient Greece and Rome. Evidence: They’re all older than the Count, who is roughly 600 years old. The sexist ideas towards women sounds exactly like something Thucydides or Younger Seneca would write. Also there’s a Roman gladiator tournament reference in The Darkest Hour where the Count and Vlad are forced to fight to the death in a deadly chamber, not exactly in a sporting manner. 

More evidence for the book existing in-universe: During the Halloween episode of season one, Jonathan switches on the TV, and the announcer states they’re starting offa “vampire movie marathon” with a “1931 classic”. It’s obvious that this is referring to Bela Lugosi’s Dracula as why else would a regular channel like BBC start a vampire marathon with such an old film? And that means that the stage-play that the film was based on existed, which was adapted from the book.

Okay, I know everyone’s here for Gil x Jay these days, and I see and respect you all, but I’m gonna take a moment to Go Off about the Gil x Harry in the Berry Bush scene

Because I can definitely see it as a case of mildly jealous/possessive Harry. Harry is, after all, not used to having to share Gil’s attention with anyone but Uma, especially since Uma left and it had just been the two of them (and their crew Of Course, but I don’t think it can be argued that any of them (sans obviously Uma) are closer to Harry or Gil than they are to each other). But now Gil’s complimenting Jay and talking with him in that rambly way he does.

And at first Harry doesn’t care, Gil can do what he wants, they’re on a mission.

But by the time Jay’s mentioning tourney, Harry can’t hold back a snarky remark, both as a remnant of their general rivalry- Harry can never hold back a teasing jab- and a bit as a ploy to get Gil’s attention back. A sort of ‘Gil this prick plays tourney, he’s not worth your time.’ And you can see he’s looking for Gil’s reaction in the next shot, he’s looking right at him with this big smile

but Gil goes back to talking to Jay pretty much instantly, and you can see the smile wipe off Harry’s face.

Then they’re going off about various places they’d have fun going to, and by the time it gets to Jay admitting that he’d love to go see penguins, implying he’d love to go see penguins with Gil, Harry has had enough, and he tells them so with his “You guys are Killing Me!” before going over, looking right at Gil at first

and making a show of himself eating the berry off his Hook. And may I just point out how Gil is positively transfixed by this? As soon as Harry’s standing next to him, Gil’s watching his movements. And you can see all through the scene that Gil tends to talk with his mouth full, something we’ve known since last movie, but for a moment as Harry bites the berry, Gil just stops and freezes and Stares

and Harry gives Jay that Passive-Aggressive smile

before changing the topic entirely and practically Sulking away

- Gets along with Dizzy really well (pretends he isnt fond of her but will cut a bitch if they mess with her)

- Cant fight for his life but is always picking them??? But only when he has muscle to back him up bc hes actually a wuss

- Genuinely likes and is friends with Gil (partly bc he doesn’t act like a brute 24/7, partly bc he treats Anthony more like a lord than most people, mostly bc he actually likes his company even if he will never admit it)

- Absolutely hates Harry (mostly bc of how he bullies Dizzy / takes from his grandma’s shop)

- Lowkey wants to fight all the time but highkey doesnt want to get his teeth knocked out

- Was classically trained on both the piano and flute by his grandma (went along with it bc he felt it would make him more lordly)

- Lady Tremaine will sometimes have him play the piano for her customers (one time he insisted on singing too but he can’t sing for his LIFE)

- “Great to see you, Gil” “Uma youre looking ferocious as always” “Harry, you smell like cat piss but what else is new?”

- Is the only boy in the family (and he kind of really hates it)
