“I’m extremely flattered , but yeah , I’m 44.I’d like to think it’s my genes, my parents looked young too. “ Jaya smiled. It was a nice compliment that she heard only a few times. Her family had that kind of genes where people thought her father, who she spent more time with, was her older brother growing up. “No, I’m not that kind of woman. So yeah, we’re good.” She felt like a young woman again, not that she was old, but she didn’t feel like she was too desirable.

“Just first give me your basic information. Like name  , address , phone number. I’ll need it in case we find your car later , so we can contact you. “ Jaya scribbed some things down , giving her a skeleton of points to go over and write down the woman’s responces too. “ Have you gotten into any arguments with people lately? Or has anyone harassed you recently? They could be suspects . Even if it feels like it was insignifigant , I need to know for my report. “ 

“No, I meant people who have stories that sound rather outlandish. Like they aren’t from earth, or they’re not human, or they’re from a different time. I’m so sorry, but I really haven’t heard any people who sound like the ones you’ve mentioned.” Jaya sighed. It broke her heart to admit it, as she recently just got over not being able to see her husband again herself, and the journey of pain was hard. “They sound like lovely people if it means anything. “ Jaya listened to the rest of his statement.” Don’t apologize for dumping it on me. It sounds like a lot but trust me, I’ve had my own share of a lot. I’m Jaya Yuu, but sometimes people call me dep. If you ever want to get drinks we can share stories some time.” 

“You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a 97-year-old man butt naked running at you with a shotgun because some kids set off fireworks and he thought you were one of them.” Jaya shuddered when she remembered that. It was Hurk jr.’s grandfather a year before he passed and it was the scariest shit she’d experienced, next to Jacob’s trials, and John’s atonement.“Where I’m from people are allowed to open carry, so I guess I’m more lenient on this subject than other DC cops. “ Back in Montana , Jaya had a pistol with her when she worked, her husband had a gun in his work office ,  and pretty much everyone they knew had some kind of weapon. Perks of being from the backwoods.

Jaya will NOT forgive the seeds. She feels bad for Faith ; but the brothers had their chance to make themselves better and chose to be toxic. She’ll especially be hostile towards Joseph Seed - as he was the only surviving Seed when she came to DC (Jaya is part of the bunker ending) and still has nightmares about him locking her to a bed and making threats of “creating a family “ with her now that the collapse has come.

“That’s understandable honestly. I’m not expecting you to like it and if anyone tries to make you feel bad , then just shut them out.”Jaya put her jacket on , looking at the other person as she did so. “ Halloween can be quite scary  , or redundant , and America is pretty much the only country that takes it this seriously.” 

“Ah , really?” Jaya looked over herself. She wasn’t sure how she looked , after 44 years , 15 years as an officer , and 4 kids - Jaya gave up trying to be attractive. She was just a native american girl from the backwoods of Montana where nearly everyone knew how to shoot a gun from the time they could hold one on their own. Her outfit was just a simple tan lace up dress that hung loosely at her ankles , similar to what a saloon woman would wear in the old west - but with a more modern take on it. “ I’m glad you think so. I haven’t felt conventionally beautiful since I was 20. “ 

Jaya tried to calm down , taking a deep breath before pulling out of the hug. Tears still were on her cheeks but she wiped them away with her hand. “ Ah , Sorry that was -” She laughed rather dejectedly. “ That was kind of pathetic huh? I’m supposed to be this scary person , as Joseph put it ; the horseman of hell , the bringer of the collapse. “ She shook her head , tilting it up to the sky as to try and stop the tears from falling. 

Jaya didn’t turn around at first , but soon she realized that the bartender had spoken to her and turned to face the woman. The lights were dim and the week had been a long one , so Jaya wasn’t sure if she was just projecting or if the bartender was- “ Faith Fucking Seed. “ If she was wrong , then the bartender would think it was one weird secret drink and that she was crazy. There was no way that a dead woman would be running a bar , let alone in dc of all places. “ Fuck , sorry. I mean I want a Whiskey, neat.”
