I don't think Dazai really is actively looking for a serious relationship. He's just flirting around. He's well aware of the effect that he has on many women (on everyone really). I think the flirting is often just a thing he does to gain something, be it comfort or sex or intel or a cup of coffee. I guess that kind of makes him a playboy?

If Dazai actually starts dating someone, I think he would be quite faithful. He's not the type to just enter a romantic relationship. If he were to date someone, surely he would have to be interested in them, he would feel something for them, care about them, you know. So why would he want to destroy that? The kind of intimacy and warmth a relationship is something Dazai doesn't have (and maybe doesn't know), and once he has that warmth he's been lacking, why would he want to throw it all away? I don't think Dazai is that cruel.

Unless the relationship really doesn't work out of course! But I think he would just break up then, rather than cheating.

It's a fact that his real life counterpart was a notorious womaniser. I don't remember exactly, but he remarried several times and had several lovers throughout his life. Women found him very attractive. So his womanizing habits and the "tempted to betray" are a reference to the real Dazai. And while he's based on the author Dazai Osamu, he's not exactly the same as him! (I hope...)

I am quite curious about the interview you mentioned though. I never read it. Do you (or anyone) know where I can find it? Will answer your other question later, by the way. It's kind of hard.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Showers the person he’s in love with in compliments. He compliments them on their outfit, on their smile, on their handwriting. Heck, he would probably compliment the instant ramen they make him that one time. All of his compliments would be so sickeningly sincere. It’s all very, very obvious.

 He’s always looking out for his s/o, offering to help them with anything and everything. When he spots them in town carrying several heavy-looking grocery bags, he rushes over immediately and offers to carry them all. When it’s late at night and he’s driving through the city and he spots them all alone out, he would be adamant about bringing them home safely.

 He’s also probably less likely to throw himself headfirst in danger while on a mission, because he now has someone he wants to go back to no matter what.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

With dating an executive of the Port Mafia come a bunch of risks. The Port Mafia has enemies, and those enemies will try to use any of the PM’s weaknesses to their advantage. The s/o of one of the executives could easily be seen as a weakness. Chuuya is a loyal guy, he’s loyal to the Port Mafia, but he would also be loyal to his partner. A scenario where he has to choose either his partner or the mafia is something he would want to avoid. Therefore, he would not be very upfront about his relationship, but I don’t think he would completely hide his relationship either.

Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

I think he would manage. Of course it depends on why he misses his partner and when he will be able to see them again.

If he won’t be able to see his partner for a long time, but they would be back someday, I think Dazai would know that the only thing he can do is keep going. He’d continue to go to work and he’d tease Kunikida and Atsushi. He’d save Yokohama once or twice. Then he’d go home and eat and sleep, but he has his partner on his mind.

He’d text or call his partner every day, but he’d prefer it if his partner called or texted first, because he likes the validation. He would tease his partner as well, telling them that they’re not texting and calling him enough. He would definitely ask his partner for inappropriate pictures of his partner because he misses them so, so, so much.

A genuine ‘’I miss you a lot.’’ Or something like that would be hard to say out loud during a call for Dazai. He might not really understand what that yearning is that he feels. His partner would know though.

thank you for 500 followers! I know I haven't posted in months but I do intend to post again eventually (I still have several drafts saved on my laptop), but I've been very busy these past months and BSD also hasn't been on my mind at all.

with the arrival of coronavirus in my country I will have to stay home for who knows how long, so I might start posting again, or might not lol.
