I don’t think anyone will ever convince me the hate for Gwyn isn’t entirely ship based

real talk but while i do believe there are some non-transparent cash grab explations for a multi-volume book (SJM keeps writing bricks in general, she may have come to a legitimately come to the artistic decision to break from what she said the format would be and do multiple interweaving romances in a single story, etc,) I cannot help but be extremely aware that the publishers likely only gave SJM permission to do it like this as a way to drag out a highly lucrative ship war as long as humanly possible.
