Try to have fun again! Remember that it doesn’t have to look nice, sometimes just putting lines or scribbles on a page is enjoyable in the moment even if the result isn’t amazing.

Something that helps me in particular is drawing stuff I don’t usually draw so I separate myself from these expectations I unconsciously set for myself re: what my art should look like. Maybe doodle little objects around the house, or a funny looking plant you saw. Draw a stupid abstract face (I’ll send you some of my mom’s recent doodles) or just make some shapes on a page. Paint like a five year old with your fingers, be mindless and free with it!

Once you take the pressure off yourself and start having fun, you might feel your mind opening and end up draw something really cool! And if you don’t, well it’s still practice and if you’re enjoying yourself, that matters more than anything (in my opinion). At some point you’ll shake the cobwebs off again, I promise. You haven’t lost your skills, you just need to get back into the groove again!
