As the title suggests, my Pleasantview, is now completed and I can't wait to share it with you!
I've always wanted to contribute to my dearest Sims community with something that others could enjoy, a.k.a., a hood (no, Voidland is not dead on a ditch) so I figured I'd do one, and then I always had ideas for others, and I ended without finishing projects, multiple several times. But this Pleasantview can say otherwise, as I managed to """""""finish""""""" it.
There are surely going to be a few problems here and there (I have the early version for my personal gameplay and I can tell you, the oversights I committed were definitely NOT little to none) but nothing is perfect really, don't kill me for it, pretty please.
Sooo.... what has this Pleasantview that makes it different from others?
Well... let's start off with a list of things it has
New Families to play with! Including the: Libros, Newbies, Broke Cousins, Susie Broke, Langerak and Kaylynn Langerak!
Renovated lots and some slight makeovers! (some more notable than others as for many premades their original outfits already look fantastic)
Genetically corrected premades! This means that half of Pleasantview's population is no longer face template nº2 and instead resemble their ancestors.
Infant faces! Now infants have the facial proportions from their parents instead of the regular one (in the townie version, townies also have infant faces)
New community lots for your simmies to visit!
New residential lots for your simmies to live in!
Memories that make more sense
And many more features!
(ignore Mary Sue's evil twin in the Oldie's portrait, she doesn't exist)
And here are some pictures from the hood view!
I don't wanna spoil more stuff about it, so I'll let you guys download it to discover the thingies going on and how the lots and households look.
UPDATE
I fixed an issue with the Caliente sisters and changed their appearances too. More in this reblog.

Pleasantview WITH townies
Pleasantview WITHOUT townies
To put these in your game, go to Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 (Ultimate Collection if you have it)/Neighborhoods and drag what is inside of the .rar files into that folder.
Both versions are named N0V1, so if for some reason you wanted both in your game, I'd suggest to use a program to change the name of the files. I personally use Bulk Rename Utility.
MISC THINGIES
I'd recommend to use the rug fix mod otherwise, the rugs will either look funky or completely disappear (please forgive me for adding this so late)
Well... I think that's all I had to say about it! I'm super excited to have others play it and enjoy it! Thank you so much for supporting me and for downloading my Pleasantview. Have an awesome and fun time!

One installer. Every essential fix, mod, and tool for The Sims 2, set up for you in a few clicks.
I got tired of hunting down the same "must-have" fixes every time I reinstalled The Sims 2 (to the point where it has kept me from playing), so I made a tool that does it for you! 🥳 You choose the fixes, mods, and tools you want, click through, and it installs them all — with automatic backups and a built-in undo, so nothing is permanent and nothing gets lost.
It works with both the 2025 Legacy Collection (Steam and EA App) and the older Ultimate Collection.
⚠️ One heads-up: I only own Legacy (on Steam) and the Ultimate Collection, so I haven't been able to test the EA App or Epic versions of the Legacy Collection myself. They should work, but if you run into any issues on those, please let me know and I'll push out a fix!
Most importantly, none of this content is mine. Every fix, mod, and tool belongs to the creators who made them — I only automate installing them. Full credits and links are in the guide that comes with it. Please go support these people 💜
⬇️ Download: SFS | GitHub
📋 Want to see exactly what's included first? Here's the full list of every mod, fix, and tool, with credits: https://github.com/familyfunds/sims2-essentials-setup-tool/blob/main/GUIDE.md
More details under the cut 👇
What is it?
The Sims 2 Essentials Setup Tool is a single Windows installer (.exe file). Instead of downloading, unzipping, and hand-placing dozens of separate fixes, you run one program, choose what you want from a checklist, and it puts everything in the right place for you.
There are three quick presets so you don't have to think too hard:
Recommended — the sensible default set.
Complete — everything.
Custom — start from a blank slate and pick only what you want.
What's included
Everything here is curated to work together and this isn't a random pile of downloads. I checked every package against the others for conflicts (comparing the actual game resources each one touches), dropped or swapped anything that clashed, and set the load order in the few cases where two mods needed to coexist. So you can tick things freely without worrying that two fixes will quietly fight each other.
Over 140 hand-picked fixes and mods, grouped into:
Anti-corruption & core — the safety-critical stuff that keeps your neighborhoods healthy.
Bug fixes — dozens of fixes for Maxis bugs, from memory issues to gameplay glitches.
Helpful gameplay mods — quality-of-life tweaks that just make the game nicer to play.
Essential tools & systems:
CEP (Color Enable Package) — downloaded straight from MTS at install, see the note below
The Scriptorium
Radiance Lighting System 2.5
GunMod's Camera Mod 3.1
Rugs off-grid
TS2 Extender 0.8.1 (fixes only, optional extras off by default)
Objects.package corruption protection
Missing content restore (you supply your own Ultimate Collection or disc files — EA content is NOT bundled):
Restore IKEA Home Stuff (works on both Steam and EA/Epic — it sets up whichever your game needs)
Restore Missing Music
Missing Holiday Items
Neighborhood setup: clean/empty stealth 'hoods, or fully disable them, plus the MATY no-townie-regen mods.
Startup cheats: 45° object rotation and quarter-tile placement.
Third-party tools: SimPE, Mootilda's HoodChecker / LotAdjuster / Sims2Pack Clean Installer, and Body Shop for the Legacy Collection.
Backups & undo
This is the part I care about most: before the tool changes or replaces any file, it backs up your original first (to C:\ProgramData\The Sims 2 Essentials Setup Tool\backups). To undo anything, just run the tool again and choose Undo — you get a checklist and can roll back everything or only certain pieces. It does not add itself to "Add or remove programs"; it stays fully self-contained.
Requirements
Windows (I tested and created this on Windows 11)
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection (2025) or Ultimate Collection
For the "Missing" content (IKEA / Music / Holiday), your own UC or disc files
How to use it
First, a friendly nudge: back up your Sims 2 "Documents" folder. The tool shouldn't touch your saves, neighborhoods, or downloads — and it automatically backs up anything it does change — but it's always better safe than sorry. Just copy your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2… folder somewhere safe before you start. (Besides… when was the last time you backed up your saves? 😉)
Download the .exe. It's unsigned (normal for community tools), so if Windows SmartScreen pops up, click More info → Run anyway.
Right-click the .exe and choose "Run as administrator" — it needs admin rights because it writes into your game folder.
Pick your edition, confirm your Documents folder, tick what you want, and click through.
That's it. To undo later, run it again and choose Undo.
A note on CEP
CEP isn't bundled in the installer — Numenor asks that it only be hosted on Mod The Sims. So if you tick it, the tool downloads it directly from MTS at install time. None of Numenor's files are redistributed here. That does mean CEP is the one thing you can't install while offline — but everything else in the tool works completely fine with no internet connection.
Credits & terms
Genuinely, all of the credit goes to the creators — Numenor, LazyDuchess, GunMod & the Radiance team, HugeLunatic, Mootilda, cyjon, Pescado & MATY, TwoJeffs, Nopke, simler90, LordDarcy, MidgeTheTree, hiloyt, CroconawSims, and so many more. The full list with links is in the included guide.
While I've reviewed everyone's terms of use in detail to make sure I wasn't breaking any rules, I'm only human and I could have missed (or misinterpreted) something. If one of your mods or tools is included in this installer and you'd like me to remove it, please shoot me a message and I'm happy to do so.
The tool itself is free and open-source — you're more than welcome to review every file and exactly what it does on GitHub. It's not affiliated with EA or with any of the creators above.
Missing something? Suggestions welcome
Think I've left out a crucial bug fix or a genuinely helpful mod? Send it my way. If the creator's terms of use allow it, I'm happy to look into adding it.
A quick heads-up on my philosophy, though: I originally built this for myself, and I like my game as close to vanilla as possible. So mods that change gameplay in a big way, or add features that were never in the base game to begin with, generally aren't ones I'll bundle. This isn't meant to be an "everything" list, but I'm always glad to consider suggestions, so don't be shy about sharing what you'd love to see!
Lyla Grunt never died. I'm gonna sidetrack a bit with this one because it also involves Olive, but in my head canon, Olive is stalked by the Grim Reaper and she also offers a service to anyone in need. She offers fake identities to people to start over with their lives (kinda like witness protection but unofficial) and she makes a fake headstone with their names in her graveyard to make it as if they were really dead. Lyla wanted to flee after her divorce with Buzz and take the kids with her, but for some unknown reason, she couldn't and just fled on her own.
Lyla is one of my personal favourite Strangetown sims, I could never think ill of her
✨✨✨
If anyone wants to ask me any more headcanons about one or multiple Sims, here is the list of questions you can ask!
I'm loving my newfound hobby, Reshade Preset Creating!
I needed a new preset for my new hood (if you're interested in it, I might share some screenshots as I play) and instead of looking for any out there that might not satisfy me, I decided to make my own!
I hereby present to you: Wet Woods, a reshade preset for that town lost in the middle of knowhere
(excuse my unprofessionalism, I don't know much about creating things for others, specially something so technical such as a reshade preset)
There are some slight visual things with it that might annoy some such as the fact that if you have a custom skyline, it won't be visible unless the right effect is toggled off, some transparency in the UI and sometimes Sims in certain angles, etc. It's something typical with Re-Shade presets unfortunately. (plus, I made this for myself and decided to share it, I didn't make it to please others)
If you're looking for something simpler though, there's another preset that I created and have been using for a long time before this one that doesn't add as much, but greatly improves the visual aspect of the game. This is my other preset, Orange Juice:
(Some of my screenshots from my shared hood Robinsdale with my very good friends :3)
(Feverfew)
(My new Uberhood in which I have only been able to get through some families of Pleasantview)

Orange Juice 🍊
Wet Woods 🌲🍃
I tested Orange Juice in other Sims games (Sims 3 and 4) and it works in both. I'm sure that same goes to say with Wet Woods. Feel free to use them in any other game out there and let me know how you like them and share some screenshots using them!
I also wanna say that I use the Radiance Lightning Mod, which also changes how the game looks

This is a set of 10 non-default face templates commissioned by the lovely @erekiio! Some faces are new combinations of maxis sims, while others are templates from v1 of my default set that did not make it to v2. Included are optional files for the infant age stage.

Okay things I have found out from just two days of playing:
paras have different needs depending on personality. My para is an introvert, so instead of a fun need, she has a "me time" need. Her fiancé (extrovert) has a fun need instead.
You can break up suddenly, amicably or ask for an open relationship
there are meteor impacts???
you can customize posters and photos with your own photos
the paras can PILLOWTALK AFTER WOOHOOING???? Like they talk while cuddling. There are no voice lines and no animations for it yet but I can see it in the queue
you can vandalize the town (other paras don't react to it yet though)
you can change the skin tone of the fuckin PALMS, I have never seen that in a video game in my entire life
the genetics are so good DESPITE the colour wheel. Reminds me a lot of the Sims 2 genetics system, but it additionally has hereditary height and hair texture. Remember how a certain multibilliondollar company kept saying Sims 3 has wonky genetics because of the colour wheel for skin and hair? Clowns.
Build mode? Fantastic. Already.
THE MODDING POSSIBILITIES? PLEASEEEEEE, people will go wild, I already know it (psssst in the game files there are files for different "sspecies", such as humans and... rabbits)

I updated the download links to fix an issue the Calientes had (in which they immediately inherited Flamenco's fortune from god knows where) and I also gave them new appearances (they are still genetically correct) as I was not satisfied with the previous results. In case you downloaded my old Pleasantview link, and you want the new appearances for the Calientes, here will be the download link.

Playing Sims 2 made me realize how limited social interactions were compared to other Sims titles. So after some tutorials, I made my very first mod: More Social Interactions!
Here are the list of interactions. Some are triggered by relationship dynamics so you won't see them all at once. There are no new animations, just more options for storytelling purposes.

Big shoutout to picknmixsims, echo on MTS, and The Sims 2 Guru on YouTube for all of the help on pointing me in the right direction.
I don't *think* this should conflict with anything, I have almost 10 gigs of CC and mods and haven't run into any issues. I also don't have any coding/modding experience so, idk how much I can help if something goes wrong.
