Nick.com Pick (6/23/06)
This week, your choices for the Nick.com Pick are ChalkZone, Catscratch, and an episode of the Wild Thornberrys that's centered around a kangaroo (in honor of next week's premiere). Which do you want to see?
ChalkZone - The Smudges / Tiny Pirate Problem / Curse of the Werefrog
The Wild Thornberrys - Pal Joey
Catscratch - Katilda / The Secret Door
(sorry for the sudden disappearance btw, I've been spending the past few days at the beach)
This week's song from the ChalkZone Jukebox was the season 2 song "What's My Line?"
This one's a particular favorite of mine, mainly because the episode it appears in features Blocky.
Okay, I know last night's show's performance wasn't exactly "new" (being an old performance from 2003), but I still wanna have something to post, so here it is anyway.
June 16, 2006 (again):
(the scene fades in to show Davis and Emma, lying down next to the loungers)
Davis: Hey, everyone. Now, I know Jack Black didn't have time to perform a song of some sort. However, it IS the Summer of Music. So, Emma and I dug into the U-Pick Archives to give you guys a special surprise. *hands the mic to Emma*
Emma: Performing on the balcony of U-Pick Central, give it up for Jack Black, and the cast of School of Rock!
*loungers cheering*
Davis: Take it away!!!
(the scene transitions to an old 2003 performance of the main song from the movie "School of Rock"; you can view the performance yourself here)
==========================
Okay, so originally, I was only gonna post 2 segments from this week's UPFN show. However, Emma and I found out that Emma's roommate, who's a huge School of Rock fan, actually recorded the archived performance on Emma's VCR.
As such, I decided to also post about this.

Queue Rant
Why do my posts keep ending up in queue purgatory?!
I scheduled a post to go public at 9pm Eastern Time (I'm currently on Central Time, so it's 8pm for me), and it's STILL not up!!!
It's been stuck in queue purgatory for nearly 10 minutes!!
What the hell is going on?!
EDIT: I SWEAR TO GOD, IF IT'S STILL STUCK IN QUEUE PURGATORY AN HOUR LATER I'M JUST GONNA REDO IT!
June 16, 2006 (again):
(an opening stinger plays, with two kids recreating a CatDog scene (one kid is playing Cat, the other is playing Dog); Davis and Emma, as CatDog, are directing)
Davis: *snaps clapperboard*
Emma: Action!
Kid 1: Alright, you guys wanna dance??? Let us dance!
Kid 2: Wait, didn't you say that this was an uncivilized way to channel your aggression?
Kid 1: Enough with the Psychobabble!
Kid 2: Well then, hi-ho diggety!
Emma: And cut!
(the scene then fades to a shot of Emma and Davis sitting on the same couch as before, loungers cheering in the background)
Emma: Hey, you're watching U-Pick Friday Night! We're just about to get to this week's brand new Kaput & Zösky.
Davis: BUT first! We've got to get to none other than the Prize Wall Punch!
*Prize Wall Punch theme plays as Cow shows it off*
Emma: Thanks, Cow!
Cow: *cow noises*
Davis: You know how it works, one lucky lounger has a chance to win some excellent prizes. Announcer, tell us what they could win!
Announcer (voiced by Erin Fitzgerald): They could win... a NickArcade gift certificate, a chance at the Bucket Of Yuck, and an autographed t-shirt.
Davis: And of course, if they win the autographed t-shirt, all the other loungers get t-shirts as well.
Emma: Not to mention, we've also got the coveted Bucket O' Bucks, currently worth $134.43!
Davis: Alright, let's get started!
Davis and Emma (in unison): Oh, Pick Boy!!
(the scenes fades to Pick Boy at the beach, ordering a smootie)
Pick Boy: Yeah, I think I'll take the uh... the strawberry and banana smoothie.
Cashier Man: Okay, comin' right up!
Pick Boy: Yeah, y'know, looks like it might taste good and- wait! Wait- wait!
Cashier Man: What?
Pick Boy: Uh, could you wait just a moment? I think I'm needed for something... *runs off*
Cashier Man: Okay...?
(as the cashier guy looks at the smoothie, he secretly takes a small sip of it; the scene then cuts back to the lounge, with Pick Boy's theme playing as he jumps into frame)
Pick Boy: Hey, what's... uh... guys?
Davis: Down here, Pick Boy.
Pick Boy: *looks down* Oh, CatDog! Funny seeing you here! Then again, we are in an animated world so... not too surprising.
Emma: Pick Boy, it's us, Davis and Emma.
Pick Boy: Yeah I know, you two sound just like them!
Davis: *sigh* Could you please pick a lounger already?
Pick Boy: Right, I do have a smoothie to drink. WHO WANTS TO GO TO THE PRIZE WALL??
*loungers cheer and raise their hands*
Pick Boy: Let's see here, I randomly pick you! Come on down!
Davis: Alright, stand over here next to the couch.
(picked lounger walks over to the green couch)
Davis: What's your name? *hands microphone to lounger*
Kid: Erika...
Emma: Alright, Erika, here's how it works. You've got 9 numbers to punch through, when you've made your choice, go and punch the number you want.
Davis (to loungers): Which one do you think she should punch?
Loungers: *different numbers are spoken*
Emma: Right, you've heard from the loungers. Go and make your pick!
Erika: *selects "4"*
*shirt comes through, set to U-Pick's standard "ta-da" sound effect*
*cheering*
Announcer: Congratulations! You've won a U-Pick Friday Night t-shirt autographed by Davis and Emma, as well as shirts for all the loungers! All that, and a bucket of slime!
*cheering and celebrating continues*
Davis: Where was the Bucket O' Bucks?
*hand reveals it behind "9"*
Davis: It was behind #9! Alright, there you have it, everyone!
*camera pans around to show the loungers celebrating*
==========================
Just in case you care, for every week that the Bucket O' Bucks isn't won, the amount will go up by $11.43.
June 16, 2006:
(the scene cuts to a “Last time on U-Pick Friday Night...” title card; this is followed by stills from last week’s episode as Jeff Sutphen (who voices Pick Boy) narrates over them)
Narrator: Last time on U-Pick Friday Night... Davis and Emma kicked of U-Pick Live's first ever summer season, during which, Professor Pickens accidentally turned them into CatDog. Now, watch as Davis and Emma continue to deal with this situation...
(the scene irises into a short montage of shots of NYC, with the cast heading to the studio, set to the 2004 U-Pick theme)
Kid: I'm Karlos from Oklahoma. Live from Times Square, in the heart of New York City, it's Friday night on U-Pick Live!
(the scene fades to an opening animation, revealing UPFN's logo, before transitioning to a shot of the loungers cheering excitedly, before fading to show Davis and Emma, as CatDog, sitting on a green couch in the lounge)
Davis: Hey, what's up guys? *hands mic to Emma*
Emma: Hello, and welcome back to U-Pick Friday Night. I'm Emma... *hands mic to Davis*
Davis: And I'm Davis. And as you can see, we are still stuck as CatDog.
Emma: Yep, *Emma is handed the mic* as you saw from the recap, Pickens is still working to fix the machine that got us into this mess.
Davis: *mic is handed to him* Yeah, I really hope he gets it fixed tonight. This entire week has been a complete mess. I mean, we're STILL struggling to walk around. *hands mic to Emma*
Emma: But don't worry, we've got 3 whole hours of picks, prizes, and premieres to help pass the time. Including another new episode of Kaput & Zösky, as WELL as the BIG SUMMER MOVIES premieres of The X's: Truman X: Super Villain, and CatDog: The Lost Episodes! *hands mic to Davis*
Davis: How oddly fitting, huh? Uh, plus we've got a special appearance by Jack Black from the new movie "Nacho Libre". *hands mic to Emma*
Emma: That's right, and I've heard that he's brought a special guest to help him wrestle against the competitor known as fruit punch! *hands mic to Davis*
Davis: Ooh! That's sounds pretty exciting. Not to mention, we've also got your Nick.com Pick, the Prize Wall Punch, and the Weekly Challenge, where you decide whether Emma and I have to face off against Cow in Tennis, Basketball, or Baseball! *hands mic to Emma*
Emma: And speaking of that Nick.com Pick, I say we get right to that. *hands mic to Davis*
Davis: Yep, it's a special Father's Day-themed Nick.com Pick. You guys have been voting all week between Father's Day-themed episodes of the Wild Thornberrys, Jimmy Neutron, and ChalkZone. *hands mic to Emma*
Emma: Alright, let's see the results. Uncle Plasma?
*the camera pans over to Uncle Plasma and reveals the results*
The Wild Thornberrys: 35%
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius: 56%
ChalkZone: 9%
Emma: And it's Jimmy Neutron! *Davis is handed the CD* Alright, you ready to take the disc to the control room?
Davis: Uh, Emma? I don't think we can get there in time. Remember how it took us 10 whole minutes to get to the kitchen for a glass of water, and then back to the couch?
Emma: Oh, guess you're right... Hey, Cow?
*Cow walks into frame*
Cow: *cow noises*
Emma: Yeah, you think you could take this CD over to Jeremy please? Davis and I are in a bit of a predicament...
Cow: *gives a thumbs up and takes the CD*
Emma: Oh, thanks!
Davis: Alright, Cow, good luck out there.
(Cow runs out of the studio, with the typical "running to the control room" anthem playing in the background)
Emma (being heard from her mic): Hope he looks out for any tidal waves.
(as Cow reaches the halfway point, one of the crew members splashes him with water off-camera, resembling a tidal wave)
Davis (being heard from his mic): Woah! I didn't know there was a beach in our studio.
Emma: Didn't you run across one last week?
Davis: Oh right, I guess I did...
(Cow eventually makes it to the control room, walking over to Jeremy to give him the disc)
Jeremy: Oh, hey! Thanks!
Cow: *cow noises*
*Jeremy inserts the disc into the cd slot behind him and gives an OK sign with his hands to the camera*
Emma: Thanks, Jeremy! *mic is handed to Davis*
Davis: Alright, everyone, here's Jimmy Neutron, as picked by you guys at Nick.com!
*loungers cheering*

U-Pick Friday Night - Summer of Music 2006 Lineup:
(as usual, this isn't real, just pretend that it is)
All this summer, Nickelodeon's U-Pick Friday Night has a slew of different artists performing on the balcony of U-Pick Central. Some will be live, some have been filmed in advance due to pre-planned tour scheduling, but they're all a part of UPFN's Summer of Music. Below is a list of all the artists you can expect to see throughout the summer:
June 9: They Might Be Giants (I actually meant to post this before they performed, my bad)
June 16: Jack Black and the cast of School of Rock (replay of old U-Pick Live performance from 2003)
June 23: Young Divas
June 30: Orson (live) and Sheryl Crow (pre-recorded)
July 7: Omarion
July 14: The Go! Team
July 21: Lil' Romeo (live) and Gnarls Barkley (pre-recorded)
July 28: Stacie Orrico
August 4: Ashlee Simpson
August 11: Kelly Clarkson
August 18: Plain White T's
August 25: McFly (live) and Corinne Bailey Rae (pre-recorded)
September 1: OK Go
For now, we can't give any updates regarding what songs they'll be playing, you'll just have to wait and see.
Just Wondering...
Which of these three Nicktoons do you prefer?
Invader ZIM
The Fairly OddParents
ChalkZone
I'm already placing my bets for who's gonna win.
UPFN Behind the Scenes - Nose Too Big:
So, it's been a few days since Pickens accidentally turned us into CatDog. Emma and I are still trying to get used to it.
The main issue is trying to stand up, which requires both me and Emma's upper-body strength. Not just to get up, but also to get anywhere (even just for a glass of water).
Emma has been staying with me in my apartment until we get changed back, and she's great company.
However, we have found another problem with this whole CatDog situation.
Our noses (but especially mine) are too big, so it's a bit hard to see certain things, especially with this giant nose in the way.
Also, I know you're all gonna ask it, so yes, we have figured out how to use the toilet.
my Jenny, Tuck, Brad, Shelden, and Vega older designs ^__^
i'm watching mlaatr, still not done, i think i got like 10 more eps (and if i'm being transparent i skipped around eps... i just wanted to see vega...). And i'm absolutely loving the show!!!! i love these characters a lot, didn't like Shelden at first i'm going to be honest, #1 Shelden hater for a bit there. but he chilled out in season two and i started to ship breldon with that too so now i just love him so much.
more about my personal headcanons:
I like this art, nuff said.
Here are some screen caps from yesterday, including both last night's U-Pick Friday Night block (7pm - 10pm), as well as the 2-hour As Told by Ginger mini-marathon that preceded it (5pm - 7pm).

For this week's ChalkZone Jukebox segment, we included the season 2 song "Ha Ha Ho".
(for the record, this isn't real, just pretend that it is)
Here's the song that They Might Be Giants performed last night (June 9, 2006), as part of U-Pick Friday Night's Summer of Music.
I can't wait for you guys to see what the rest of the Summer of Music lineup will look like.
