GOD Dashbored has so much good time loop potential w/ all the multiverse/timeline nonsense
HC that when a save master reloads a save, Everything is put back where it Was with zero discernable difference. Only the faintest ghost of the idea of what had happened before the reload in anyone's mind. It feels like deja vu where you feel like you dreamed this once. Except for the Save Master, who it still feels like a distant memory to but they remember More than a non-save master
Temprocal component users, on the other hand, have a different experience. It can get messier more easily with timeline contamination and butterfly effects. The user remembers most of what happened before their rewind, but nobody has even the slightest feeling anything happened.
This can lead to unexpected differences in the timeline, some of which seem to stem from farther back than how far the temprocal user went. Sometime they might accidentally jump timelines. You never know. Without the space component to help stabilize, its not quite as reliable.
One thing temprocal component useage has over saving, though, is Specificity.
You can unwind a whole day's timeline or just rewind a specific object until it's back to before it was broken.
Or reverse time on a person to reduce them to a single celled organism fresh from the gene pool
Though obviously more intense abilities and the longer back you rewind, the harder toll it takes on the user. Rewinding an hour on some bread you forgot and burnt? Child's play. Rewinding acouple pocket dimension days bc things didnt go your way? Alittle rough, but doable! Rewinding weeks? Months? You're gonna be recovering for a long while. Years on a whole timeline? Might not survive it.
Unfortunately for both Save Masters and Temprocal Users, though, they cant just use their powers whenever they want. Especially big stuff. And its not just because of the toll it takes on the body.
If the SAPU knows you have a component, they are very invested in keeping an eye on you. We already know Save Masters are especially under their thumb. The organization likes to keep all component users on a tight leash. They say it's to protect the integrity of the timeline (which is half true) but moreso dont want to risk their power being threatened by people with abilities as powerful as the manipulation of time and space itself.
So, even if Alex wanted to, he wouldnt be able to go back and save Nash. He wouldn't be able to fix everything because they'd _know_. Undoing an event that significant would have tamper detection readings off the charts. Who knows what they'd do to him for insubordination.
So, things play out as they do.
Its too late to save anyone.
Even with all the power in the world, the very fabric of reality at their finger tips,
