Dark Poetry

Once again I am here,

It too is here again.

Twisted and sick,

the painful sin.

Gone away for awhile,

But back with a vengeance.

How afraid I am,

Of it’s evil presence.

The cuts add up,

So do the lies.

Just to avoid,

But after the conversation you still seem glad

I don’t know why

You think this new attitude is gonna fly.

Every fight kills me

Every time leaving me thinking this can’t be.

What happened to the boy that I loved most

The one who loved me and used to boast.

To whom it may concern,

Everything is not always as seen.

To whom it may concern,

I’m not as held together as I was as a teen.

To whom it may concern,

Everything nice seems too good to be true.

To whom it may concern,

Some things are too hard to heal after what I’ve been through.

To whom it may concern,

No longer can I pretend.

To whom it may concern,

7 years ago I was 13,

7 years ago I was desperate for an escape.

7 years ago I thought I would be dead before I was 20.

7 years later I am 20.

7 years later I am a happy person, despite my days of frustrations.

7 years later I am 20, alive and happy to be here.
