Elena looked at him, “ we could run away, start over far from here” she said. “ Get married, have babies and be happy” she said moving hair from her face. She smiled, “ how on earth do you plan to get away with this Damon? I want this. I do but… how do we even begin to start a new life?” She asked. “ I don’t have my own money” she said biting her lip.

Elena giggled at the look on his face. “ alright Mr.Salvatore” she said. She bit her lip looking at him, “ Since we are doing this I think it’s ok if you call me by my name” she added smirking a little at him. “ I’ll be there, I promise. I’ll try to bring a valuable or something of mine I can sell so we have money” she said.

It was good to hear that– that she would stay by his side. That she would try, That she wasn’t giving up. “You won’t need to sell anything. I promise. “ he said, simply. And kissed her forhead fondly. He knew exactly what to do.. and so he did. He had some favors that people owed to him, he had money safe since he was from founder’s family. He had more than enough to start fresh. And he had his deceased mother’s engagement ring in his pocket so he could ask Elena in marriage properly when he had an opportunity to do so. Before getting dark that day then, he got his horse and supplies. And went to met Elena. Praying that she would actually be there for him.

Elena nodded, “ ok” she said smiling at him. She closed her eyes wrapping her arms around him as he kissed her head. She wanted to stay in his arms where it was safe and warm. She pulled away then went home. Elena packed some clothes, her journal, and some books into a bag. She had gotten into a fight with her father and he had slapped her but she didn’t care. She left as soon as he was asleep. Elena ran and found Damon wrapping her arms around him. “ I’m sorry I’m late. I’m so sorry” she said breathless.

She wouldn’t come. She probably thought she’d be better off without him and wouldn’t come-- that was the paranoic mantra in Damon’s head, singing along with the drums of anxiety. It was already dark when she appeared.. and he gave a sigh of relief, embracing her as soon as she showed up “It’s alright. We are going to pass throught all of this, ok?” he promised. And then helped her with the belongings on the horse. He mounted the animal and helped her to do the same. “You ready?” asked, but already leaving that place behind them. It would be hours and hours.

“ I… We don’t have passports Damon” Elena said moving hair from her face. “ I haven’t… My parents were going to take Jeremy and I before they died but we never got the chance” she said blushing. “ I have a box for self preservation and so I don’t end up getting hurt” she said shrugging.

He watched her moves, carefully. And then a small smile was forming on his lips. Like a kid. He sorta felt bad for her parents, but it wasn’t ok for a big bad vampire to feel bad for anything so he just pretended he didn’t  “I guess you have never done anything… illegal… yet. Have you?”

Elena shook her head, “ no… I mean besides underage drinking and smoking a joint once” she said. “ but I haven’t really done anything or seen any where” she said embarrassed.

“Seriously? I can’t imagine you with cigarretes..  Anyway… Well, you are going to be corrupted right now. I’ll just make some calls and we will just make our ways into Canada, with no passports. Sounds ok? Don’t answer, really”

Elena laughed, “ it was weed, Caroline, Bonnie and I tried it at one of Tyler’s parties freshman year, it was gross” she said. She nodded, “ alright corrupt me then” she said smiling at the vampire.

“Elena Gilbert at her teens tried to get herself  stoned??” he sounded actually stunned with that informatio “well-- my kind of illegal is a nice adventure, I promise, no bad will happen” he winked at her and then turned his eyes back to the road “it almost feel like you trust me, but that would be ridiculous” he shrugged. and at the next second his phone started ringing “uh.. saint Stefan probably doesnt like the idea” he said after checking that it was him trying to contact.

“yeah legally she could try. but, number one, it would espose her, because she was supposed to be missing or something. and number two… you are old enought for your decisions, no judge would doubt that..” he tried to reason her “wanna ride to another state and stop thinking about it? Georgia was fun last time. remember?”

“ Georgia?” Elena said wearily. “ Damon we… We shouldn’t just take off like that” she said. She wanted to go, get far far away from Isobel and John. She wanted to escape her reality for a while and just feel free. “ you know what?” She asked. “ you’re right, let’s go on a road trip!” She said smiling at the vampire.

He smirked when she agreed. Last time they went Georgia, Elena wasn’t exactly at her own free will, so it was nice to see her choosing  to do something crazy with him now. He opened the car door for her “Get in the car, my lady, let’s finally have some fun”

Elena looked at him and nodded. She got in the car and sent Stefan a quick text. She looked at him, “ so where are we going?” She asked.

“A little bit to the north” he said, while already taking the road, but he watched her reaction “like... Canada”

“It would be morally wrong if kids knew what’s happening here" he smiled at her face “if you can’t take some living porn, I guess you are the ten years old. But you can always join us if you are adult enough and wanna have some fun!”
