yunmeng jiang has a summer soltisce tradition that weirds out anyone from outside. right after lunchtime, everyone will gather on the biggest pier they have, forming a line that leads to sect leader jiang, who stands at the end of it. one by one, they all go up and jiang cheng asks them a question, any question, from 'what is the name of our eldest cook?' to 'what is the safest way to fight an yao?'. a bit weird but so far, so good. maybe a bit of trivia to stimulate his disciples to study? the catch is: anyone who answers correctly gets yeeted into the lake by the sect leader himself. you'd think that this would make the disciples upset being 'punished' for doing something right, but no, they love it. this is actually a reward for them to the point they get genuinely upset when they answer the question wrong and have to go back to the end of the line. it looks so fun that, as long as they prove they can swim, even outsiders end up participating
