Currently working on a full-scale Phantasm Sphere. ☠️⚙️

The size is finally where I want it, now comes the real challenge: getting the surface as smooth and reflective as possible for that cold metallic shine the spheres have in the films.

It’s fully 3D printed, so there’s been a LOT of sanding, filling, sanding again… then questioning my life choices… then more sanding. 😆

I don’t think I’ll ever get it QUITE as mirror-finished as the movie prop, but I’m determined to get as close as I can.

Anybody here worked on high-gloss metallic props before? Always open to suggestions, techniques, or secret dark rituals.

These are the latest versions of the biotech virus samples I’ve been designing for Mutation Station. I gave them a more original containment-lab look while steering away from direct franchise designs, especially for Etsy.

Still, I had to start with the classics:

Resident Evil 1 and 2 on the original PlayStation were absolute legends and a huge inspiration growing up. Between the creatures, the atmosphere, the lab experiments, and the gloriously over-the-top biotech horror, those games permanently altered my brain chemistry. 🤣

More specimens, parasites, containment tubes, and engineered horrors are already in development…

What was everybody’s favorite Resident Evil game?

Heres a Hellraiser piece iv never seen anyone do. If you've a good chunk of the Hellraiser movies, especially 2 and 3, youve seen the blue stuff the inject in people to make them into Cenobites.

So this piece, largly inspired by the Dr Charnard scene in Hellbound, was something I thought would be unique.

Lore:

Recovered beneath the flooded catacombs of the old cathedral district, the substance now designated as Leviathan Serum was initially believed to be ceremonial in nature.

It was not.

Early testing revealed the fluid reacts to living tissue almost immediately. Subjects reported:

- heightened pain response

- auditory hallucinations

- geometric visual distortions

- and an overwhelming sensation of being observed

Researchers noted something far more disturbing during prolonged exposure:

Several containment staff vanished following initial recovery operations. The chamber where the serum was discovered remains sealed.

I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from the works of Clive Barker over the years, so when I came across Hellbound Hearts, I had to dive in.

A collection of different authors telling their own stories inspired by the Hellraiser universe? Yes please.

I’m only a few stories in so far, but I can already tell this book is going to send my creativity spiraling into beautifully dangerous places.

The blend of horror, temptation, obsession, and transformation in these stories is exactly the kind of atmosphere I love exploring in my own artifact work and configurations.

“It does not call to you.

It allows you to notice it.”

The Web of Temptation is not a device of force, but of invitation. A Leviathan-Class Configuration associated with curiosity, obsession, and the slow unraveling of restraint.

Those who study the patterns too long often report the same sensation:

that the box is not being opened…

…it is opening them.

The entwined figures carved into its surface are believed to represent the final stage of temptation. Not submission. Participation.

In the deepest reaches, where light is memory and sound is swallowed… there are doors.

The Abyssal Configuration, known as The Drowned Gate, is said to resonate with places beyond human perception. Its spiraled design is believed to represent descent… not through water, but through thought itself.

Observers report feelings of vertigo, pressure, and the sensation of being watched from beneath the surface.

The mechanism does not open outward.

It invites the mind inward.
