key's "reassurance"
Who knew a middle aged man giggling behind his hand like an abashed Victorian maiden would be so charming?
Dear Little Alex Horne,
You can't tease "Oscar winner in series 23" and not have it be Bret McKenzie. You just can't.
Sincerely, dargo9

The world is falling to pieces and my job is stressing me out so much that a breakdown feels imminent, but Kanopy just added series 2 of Juice so... yay, I guess?
Richard Osman's House of Games loves comedians, and in recent series seems to enjoy mining the most recent cast of Taskmaster for comedians who haven't been on yet. (The series that's currently airing, 9, has had Stevie Martin, Rosie Ramsey, and Mathew Baynton, and if you go back further there's a similar pattern.) So surely there's a decent-ish chance we get Phil Ellis in series 10? Pretty please?
I need to be able to watch this man sprawled in a chair competing for ridiculous prizes again...
Gotta love the CoC4 extras (extended prize task and outtakes)...
John Robins: Gets legitimately sad when Greg calls him middle aged.
Also John Robins: Has to ask Maisie what "tea" is.
(Seriously, is that expression not as common in the UK, or am I less middle aged than John despite being the same age as him?)
Genuinely excited for CoC4... this is the first CoC where there's no one I dislike. In fact, I actually like all the contestants. Don't even know who I'm rooting for.
But in some alternate universe, there's a CoC4 line-up of Emma Sidi, Phil Ellis, Sophie Willan, Stevie Martin, and Susan Wokoma that would have been absolutely lovely.
it is really funny that sanjeev bhaskar in a sensible cardigan looks like an aristocratic vampire who's been feasting on peasants in his crumbling manor since the 15th century and nick mohammed in full dracula getup looks like a kindergarden teacher who wants to give his students the best halloween ever

The most Alex Horne part of the whole book...
Overall The Last Pebble was a fun read! The plotting and pacing felt a little off at times, but the writing and characters were excellent.

I think Mat Baynton has proven, over these eight episodes, plus his podcast appearance with Ed, that he's a Taskmaster fan and familiar with some of the lore. So I'd like to think that he purposely chose Jim Howick to borrow something from in the 19.8 prize task in order to guarantee Jim a win should he ever appear on a future series of Taskmaster.
For those who aren't aware... Sara Pascoe brought in John Robins's clock as a prize in series 3; John then won series 17. Mark Watson had Ed Gamble help him steal Greg's pants for a prize in series 5; Ed then won series 9. James Acaster brought in a drawing by Sam Campbell as a prize in series 7; Sam then won series 16.
Me, after reading the pre-series Polygon interview in which Greg Davies describes Mathew Baynton as "unsettling": What an odd choice of descriptor.
Me, after watching episode 7: ...oh...

From the recent AMA with Kiell Smith Bynoe on the Taskmaster Reddit:
Glad Kiell agrees with me...
Wish I could be there for the chaos that is Chrimbo Bimbo.
Love the jumper.
