The dust that floated in the air between the bookshelves shimmered beautifully in the sunlight. The library smelled cozy and books-filled. In the distance, you could hear the muffled voices and footsteps of students who had come to the library on a Saturday evening.

A light kiss. Another one. And another.

Raising his hand, he brushed aside her loose hair. Then, wrapping both arms around her waist, Draco pulled her closer into his embrace.

Hermione cupped his face tenderly in her hands and looked into his eyes before touching his lips again in a feather-light kiss.

This tenderness sounded like a promise. A promise of more, a promise of passion, a promise of depth. Two universes intertwined under the force of their emotions, drawn irresistibly toward each other. A shared future opened its welcoming arms to them as love flooded their hearts in the cozy silence of the library.

“It didn’t work. I didn’t make it, Hermione. I was so weak… I despise myself” – his whisper was one of despair and pain. He was one of despair and pain.

Draco let out a loud sob and choked back a sob. Only hot tears poured from his eyes, soaking the hem of her nightgown.

Hermione tried not to look at his blood-soaked forearm. It was a terrible sight. Despite the meaning of the old mark on his arm, all Hermione felt was compassion.

The witch's warm fingers stroked his hair and then moved down to his shoulders. "I'm here. I'll always be here," she didn't say the words, but she put them into her touch. Draco leaned into her hand, absorbing the comfort of her presence.

An old mark, a reminder of a terrible past. A past that ended in redemption and forgiveness from others, but still demanded forgiveness from himself.

A sudden creaking of the door let the sound of voices from the corridor into the dark room. A ray of bright sunset sun illuminated two figures hiding in the darkness of the school broom storage room.

The uninvited guest's eyes were presented with a picture of forbidden pleasure: Draco Malfoy (oh my God!) was kissing the neck of a girl melting in his arms... Wait... who is this? The ray of light illuminated the face of Hermione Granger, who was overcome with pleasure (who would recognize her now?). A slight sob escaped her lips, and before her eyes could focus on the newcomer, the door slammed shut with a resounding thud. 

"Draco, we've been noticed. I think you forgot to close the door." Hermione's hot breath and whisper caressed his ear. 

Something sugary-sweet hung in the air of the Potions classroom.

It felt like spring. Like blooming fields. The tenderness that was in the air caressed like a touch to the petals of a newly opened bud.

It was refreshing like the smell of the first spring rain that poured over the first sprouts of greenery.

The desire to touch each other consumed both of them.

Could they attribute it to the steam rising from the potion they had brewed together?
